  • Cheap and cool

It’s a cool toy for a 5-7 yr old

  • A Blast from the Past That Almost Nails It
Style: black
Let’s get one thing straight: if you’re hunting for a cheap ticket back to the pixelated glory days of the 90s, the Damcoola handheld console is a pretty solid bet. It’s got that chunky, kid-friendly feel—light enough for small hands, sturdy enough to survive a tantrum or two. The 3.0-inch screen? Bright, sure, but don’t expect retina-searing clarity. It gets the job done without frying your eyeballs, which is a win for late-night gaming under the covers. Where this little gadget really shines is its plug-and-play simplicity. No Wi-Fi, no passwords, no headache-inducing setup. Just power on and dive into those 137 classic 16-bit titles. It’s a godsend for kids, beginners, or anyone who’s ever felt betrayed by technology. The interface is clean, the buttons responsive, and the battery holds up decently for a road trip or a long wait at the dentist. But—and there’s always a but—this isn’t flawless nostalgia. Some units glitch. Screens flash or go black at random, which feels like a cruel joke when you’re one level from beating that final boss. It’s not a universal issue, but it’s common enough to make you wonder about longevity. If you’re buying for a kid who treats electronics like wrestling opponents, maybe think twice. Value-wise? It’s a steal. You’re paying pennies for hundreds of games, and the performance is smooth most of the time. No lag, no fuss. But if you’re someone who needs reliability—say, a parent counting on this to survive birthday party chaos—the occasional glitch might feel like a letdown. Accessibility gets a mixed report. The simplicity is great for new gamers or those with less tech experience, but the lack of customization—no button remapping, no screen filters—means it’s not ideal for players with specific needs. And while it’s lightweight, the grip might be awkward for bigger hands after a while. All in all, the Damcoola console is fun, affordable, and packed with charm. Just cross your fingers and hope you get a unit that behaves. ... show more

  • Handheld Video Game
Style: black
This handheld video game comes with charging cable, USB C, and an earphone. It is lightweight and easy to hold for a child. The controls are like the old school gameboy. Quality of the material is plastic but cheap. I suspect after a few drops, it may not be functional but we’ll see. It has controls for on/off and volume wheel. Speaker quality isn’t great especially if turned high. Easy to use. Turn on and then from menu select the game to play. There is a green indicator light that shows when it is on. There are 8 and 16-bit games. The are hundreds of games but they all seem to be same types of games but just different graphics. For example scrolling game jumping or moving, shooting things that fall down or come into screen, driving, puzzle etc. There are so many it is overwhelming but there is a favorite function you can add to another screen instead of scrolling through a hundred titles. My kid was entertained for about 15 minutes only. Maybe will go back to it once he finds something he enjoys. Overall okay handheld game. Wish there were some actual known brand titles like Mario! But I’m sure there are copy right issues then. Price too high for this level of quality. ... show more

  • Perfect for road trips or on the plane!
Style: black
This game unit is really fun! You're not going to find any of the 80's classics on here, but you'll find some very similar games! Easy and quick to charge and fits nicely in the hands. Has good sound and controls, and includes volume control and a headphone jack. Quality is good for being plastic. Buttons work well and everything functions as it should. Perfect for long trips or keep in at your desk for fun work breaks! ... show more

  • Not a bad little handheld with games that may or may not appeal to all.
Style: black
Okay. I've purchased many handhelds like this over the years, usually cheap ones like this. The games on it are nothing to write home about and there's none on them that I recognize, but the screen is very bright and easy to read. The battery has a charge in it (at least mine did) so I was able to test out the 16 and 8 bit games in depth. They almost remind me of mobile games that you would find on old cellphones from the last aughts/early 10s in terms of what type of games are available. The buttons seem responsive and easy to use. No issues with holding a charge either; I played on it for about two hours before I stopped. The handheld does have a tf port on it and in these description of this product, it says you can 'download' more games if you use your own card. I wasn't sure how that would work as it doesn't say anything in the included directions on how to do so, but I might put a card in and see what it does to it afterwards by then plugging that in to my PC. If I find out anything in terms of that, I will update my review to let others that may purchase this know how to do just that. Is this worth the price? I suppose so, if you are looking for little games to keep you or your kids entertained for a couple of minutes here and there, but I wouldn't rely on it to hold your attention on it for hours and hours. It's fun for what it is and younger kids, like 10 or so might have a more enjoyable experience. ... show more

  • Great price for a simple game console!
Style: black
This little handheld game console is simple but so much fun! It comes loaded with a ton of games, and the big screen makes it easy for kids to play. I’d say it’s probably best suited for younger children, maybe up to about age 8 or 9, since the games are more on the classic and easy side. Perfect for keeping kids entertained without being overly complicated—it functions well and its compact size adds to its portability. Great value for retro-style gaming fun! ... show more
