  • THIS IS S COOL GUN!!!
My grandson is a cowboy. All the way and he needed something better than a plastic gun. So I got him this one. It is made of metal, so it’s heavy like a pistol should be, it is very sturdy, it has been dropped a few times and is still fine, we wears it from the moment he gets to my house until it’s time to go home (no, he doesn’t sleep in it!). The only drawback is the holster, it’s a cheap plastic deal that isn’t holding up as good as the gun. We have had to fix one of the brads that came loose about a month after we got it. To be honest, I am getting him a leather holster so that will no longer be a problem. He will look like a 100% cowboy then!! Overall, it’s worth the money if you need something realistic. We don’t shoot the caps, we use our imagination for all the shooting, so I can’t speak to that issue. I would recommend this product! ... show more

  • Excellent Cap Gun Toy
I always wanted a cap gun when I was a kid but my mother would never buy me one. Very shortly after I made an Amazon account for myself I decided to buy one online, just because I can. Since I was shopping for a cap gun on the internet, I had a wider selection at my disposal. I took advantage by looking at the metal ones, which are far better than those cheap plastic ones that are brightly colored and ultra fake looking. I settled on this one. The gun feels very well built and durable. The only parts that aren't metal are the orange tip at the front of the barrel (more about that later) and the handle. I'm not sure how durable the plastic handle is, but as long as you don't play too rough with it it should be fine. This is a 12-shot cap gun and 12-shot cap rings can be hard to come by nowadays, but you could just as well buy some 8-shot cap rings and cut them to make them fit, which is what I did. I cut two rings once and another ring in half for two rounds of 12 shots. I had no trouble getting the gun to work. If you're like me and you don't intend to use the gun in public, odds are you'll want to remove the orange tip. I was able to do that in about three minutes by prying it out of the barrel with a pocket knife. It's not too difficult to remove. If you do remove the orange tip, don't take the gun out in public unless you have a desire to be arrested. I found that out the hard way. (Not really.) All in all, it's a very nice gun toy and I am satisfied with my purchase. ... show more

  • Great toy gun
My son is really, really rough on toys. When he asked me for a toy pistol, I immediately thought of the old metal revolvers I had as a kid - they were indestructible. Never expected to find anything close to that quality today. This gun looks very realistic - so much so that my wife is nervous about him taking it out in public. It's heavy and feels good in your hand. Not too big for small hands though. Two knocks against it. One - the plastic handle will break. It's only a matter of time. Probably can be reinforced with duct tape. Two - 12 shot ring caps are hard to find and expensive. Still, I dig the gun and my son does too. Five of five never though there is some room for improvement. ... show more

  • Great quality
It’s really well built like the other reviews said, and sturdy metal. It’s break-action, sadly not like, the pop-out chamber but it’s still super great for a costume prop gun. Doesn’t come with the (12-shot) rings, and the holster is garbage plastic but I don’t care because I only wanted the gun.

  • Loved the quality but hard to find 12 caps for this
Good quality metal cast, feels like a real revolver. Unfortunately its very hard to find the 12 cap for this one.

  • Sturdy metal cap gun
My grandson got this for his birthday and was so excited. We'd previously played with dollar store plastic cap guns which eventually landed up breaking. This one has a sturdy plastic handle and the rest of the gun is metal. I don't think it will break. My grandson uses the included holster and plays with it even if there are no ring caps inside. It was a hit. It's made in Spain and looks real except for the orange tip. Obviously we limit where my grandson plays with this gun and we're with him when he plays with it because you never know if a toy will be mistaken for a real gun. For those that can't find the 12 count ring caps you can use the 8 count ring caps. You have to cut up the 8 count in half but it works. I did find some 12 count but they're so expensive that it's not worth buying them. Edit: December 5th 2023 The gun was purchased 19 months ago. We just played with the gun again a week ago and it's still holding up. As long as you're not tossing it around or dropping it, it should stay in excellent condition. My grandson uses the holster and loves it. It's cheap and plastic but he doesn't care. ... show more

  • Broke in less than a month of use
We initially thought this was a great cap gun, but after less than a month of use my son went to draw it out of the holster and the piece of metal that holds the barrel to the hammer and closes the gun snapped off. Needless to say, we’re very disappointed; this was supposed to be a good quality toy and is now totally useless (and not fixable) as you can’t even keep it closed. The barrel also just falls off any time you open the gun, which is obnoxious, even before the connector piece broke. ... show more
