I floated the transducer behind my kayak as I paddled. It did a good job of reading the depth. Doesn't really show bottom contour like larger, more expensive finders but was good considering the low cost. The portability is a great feature. Would be 5 stars but the locking nut on the bottom of the depth finder stripped out almost immediately and the antenna is busted at the joint to fold it flat. For the money though it works well

I got this to check the fish population in my pond and it works as advertised, but I was having issues turning it off, so I just took the batteries out. I could be operator error, I'll figure it out.

Wonderful little device! I was stunned by how clear it was to follow - we trolled it behind the raft and set the alarm to alert. Sure enough, it brought us to some great catches! It does go through batteries- although I’m sure it wasn’t built to stay on for four hours while we played!

Although it doesn’t have a huge screen or color screen, it is small enough to fit in your tackle box and it’s easy to use, I though the instructions were decent. I was able to load the batteries and set up what functions to use in a few minutes. If you are looking for a value, something that works, buy this. If you want to drop triple the cash for something that does the same thing, then go ahead. Maybe if I owned my own boat I would spend more on the larger screen ones. But for a week fishing trip every year where I use the resorts boat and motor, this will do just fine. Only knock on it is I wish it came with a suction cup mount, instead off just the permanent mount. ... show more
