Very pleased with this device. The negative reviews can be mitigated by ensuring that the landing light is set to off prior to takeoff. I’ve tested this with and without the strap on a Mavic 3T carrying a 0.5lb payload and it has remained secured both ways. Only small gripe is that I would prefer the landing gear be extended to provide more clearance below the propellers. ... show more

I bought this to deliver beer and sodas for people on boats. Kinda hard to set up so the added momentum won’t make the drone fall out of the sky but it works. Try using painters tap to stiffen the string so it doesn’t swing so much in the air.

    • Failed to open
The device failed to open when triggering the aux LED; I could see the LED come on from below, but it didn't open. This ultimately resulted in the payload getting caught and a crash destroying the drone. I cannot recommend this product.

    • Light sensor needs to be protected from external sunlight
Payload release system snapped right into place on my Mavic 3 and alignment was perfect. The Velcro strap was a welcome addition for security over a buckle and latch system. I did my initial tests with an 8 oz arborist weight and a 12 inch steel leader. As others have mentioned, the sensor reacted to the bright sunlight and released the payload repeatedly before take off. Plan on adding a rubber washer or some other means of limiting bright sunlight around the sensor to prevent unplanned activation of the release. ... show more
