I was nervous they would be too small based on the dimensions, but we were able to fill each with between 7.5 and 10 lbs of dry dog food (adult and small breed, respectively). The design is great. The locking lids make it easy to keep them tightly closed - away from bugs and my ravenous bulldogs - and having a flat surface on the top where I can stack pantry overflow without blocking the lid is a real game-changer. This fit perfectly under my pantry shelf and stuck out just enough to lift the flap for feeding. This makes it easier for the kids to help feed the dog. I like that I can squeeze a package of bully sticks on top of the back part and that doesn’t prevent easy flap usage. I’ve only used this in the winter in Michigan. Item was advertised with "Airtight Silicone Sealed Cover with Flip Lid and 6 Locks" but this is NOT at all airtight; squeezing the sides will yield a whistling sound as air is being sucked in and out through the lid. Basin is a little flimsy and could be higher-density. However, it held 25 lbs of flour without a problem (be sure to settle the flour as you pour it in). Be aware that units do not stack. Lid has an insert-holder for a small rectangular canister of dessicant, which is very handy. Good feature. ... show more
