Bought one of these for myself years ago, and loved it so much that I have now purchased another to give as Christmas gift. Nice to know I am gifting quality. Handles ice and frozen foods like a boss, when done properly! Very powerful! And simple to clean...just unscrew blade from glass unit, and wash. I have never put in dishwasher, because cleaning takes only a minute or two, and ALL parts are clean. So I cannot speak to that. You don't need more than this one, to do the job right, so why pay a higher price for other brands that are over-priced? Who needs a Ninja? This is just as powerful and better priced. By the way, after 5 years of using mine, there has been no need for replacement of motor or parts, not even new blades! They are as sharp as the first time we crushed ice and frozen fruit for smoothies (be sure to add your liquid with them). There is a reason why Hamilton Beach is still going strong...durable products at better prices! I own many of their products. Very happy with all! Highly, highly recommend! Purchased this to replace my previous Hamilton beach (that I accidentally dropped and broke the glass). I honed in on this one because of the feature of coming with two containers, one of them being a container you are going to drink it from..SO convenient!! I read some of the not great reviews but I haven’t had any troubles with mine. Would purchase again! ... show more

Great quality, good noise level, my other blender still worked, but I had to push the DEFROSTED FRUIT DOWN or it would never blend & it smelled like it was burning by the time it was done. I do not have to use a spoon at all it has plenty of power.

    • Loved it… until it stopped working
This blender worked great for about 5 months, then stopped working entirely. But, since I love the blender so much, I’ve purchased this again, along with the extended warranty, and will keep the box and other papers in case this stops running as well.

    • Didn’t last 8 months with minimal use.
Didn’t even last eight months with minimal use. Went to make a basic smoothie today, nothing crazy, just frozen fruit and protein milk and it couldn’t even blend that. It started making loud noises and a burning smell came from the motor. Had to toss. Couldn’t find my warranty paperwork and the support options on amazon don’t lead to anything so I’m out of luck. This is an average blender. Doesn’t do a super job on hummus, or smoothies. Good price for a basic blender. It is quieter g he expected. And I like the size of it. Wish it had a bit more power to blend smoothed super smooth.
