The media could not be loaded. I have a small pond in Northern Minnesota, arguably I will have about the coldest pond winter in the US. I need something to keep my 20 inch deep 10 foot round pond & fish from freezing. I was using small water pumps, they work, but as the height of water/ice changes during the winter, the jet of water height changes and creates issues. I bought this air bubbler in hopes the air will do a better job since the water level won't affect the performance. I found limited reviews from cold climate users, so this will be my first year test. I read about keeping it out of inclement weather, I found my local hardware store has battery boxes for Rvs & boats. A battery box was perfect! This aerator fits in and only needed one hole drilled for the hose. The electrical cord fits out one of the several top cover openings meant for cables and those openings should allow for ample air supply and heat exchange (for those in hotter climates). It will keep rain out and should keep snow out as well since I keep it under my covered patio that only gets small amounts of blowing snow. I can't yet attest to the durability or if it will work in the 20 below zero Minnesota winter, but I'll update this if it fails to work. Edit: This was a big success and made it thru winter without any issues. It ran solid even in the 20 below temps. The aeration didn't change in the fluctuating temps. The bubbler disks didn't freeze up and the air kept the pond open the majority of the time. When it was really cold in January, occasionally the entire pond would ice over, but the ice dome above the bubbles was thin and easy to chip open, this was only an occasional need. I am very happy with the performance of this set up!

The media could not be loaded. We’ve been using this system for three winter seasons on our 1-acre pond to aerate the water for our animals, and it’s been very reliable. The air pump puts out strong airflow, and the weighted hose sank easily into the water. The 8-inch air stones do a great job producing plenty of bubbles. During the summer, we’ve also noticed less algae growth when the system is running. Overall, it does exactly what we need, and we trust it to keep working.

The media could not be loaded. Using in a 1/2 acre pond with a diffuser at 9 foot depth. Pump is in a building 80 foot from pond, air travels through 3/4 inch PVC pipe to pond and then into 150 foot weighted garden hose. Diffuser is a 25 foot soaker hose rolled up tight and attached to a brake rotor to keep it on the bottom. Moves a whole bunch of air. Worked great until I unplugged it for an hour. When I plugged it back in, pump would not push the water out of the hose to the diffuser. I finally had to blow out the line with an air compressor, then the pump worked fine. might be good to use a check valve at the diffuser so the garden hose doesn't fill with water when the pump is not running. Noise is not a big issue for me as the pump is in a building away from where we sit and relax. But I would not want to have it next to me while its running.

It's too soon to really comment on the durability/reliability of this pump, as I just got it, and only ran it for about an hour to make sure it was working (gotta do my fall clean-out before I turn it on for the winter). It seems like it will be a good one...and it is quiet. When I first hooked everything up, I discovered one of the two aerators was not working properly. I contacted the company through Amazon, and received 2 replacement aerators immediately! So, time will tell on the pump itself, but right now this gets 5 stars for amazing customer service!

I was not expecting this type of quality. My Pond is roughly 14 feet deep at the deep end. I made my own diffuser with a piece of tubing, and drilled a bunch of tiny holes in it. I also ordered a standard air compressor hose which does not need weight. My pond is roughly 1 acre. It stays on 24 hours a day from May thru November. It is almost silent. Moves alot of air through the water. It's been a couple years now. Stays outside even in the rain.

I needed to replace the bubbler in my 5000 gallon pond quickly. The one I had had for years finally died and we were getting ready to go out of town for a few days. It arrived quickly, was easy foe me to install and works very well. The price was right too - I spent twice as much on a Danner air pump and it only lasted a few years. I was hoping I found a hidden gem in this pump. I use many of these septic pump so I do know what they should sound like. This pump seems unbalanced. Making clanging and uneven noise. The base becomes extremely hot, leading me to think this is not going to last very long. It may cost 1/2 of a similar hiblow but I doubt it last 1/10 as long. Return is such a pain in the you know what that I decide to not go through the trouble. Update: I opened the pump and noticed that the motor has vibrated off the rubber supports! Even after I put it back on, it continues to vibrate excessively. I'm already being a Medo pump to replace this... I think this pump is serviceable if your diffuser is at less than 5ft deep. At 6ft deep or more, this pump struggles and sounds like a fork stuck in a trash compactor.

I bought the pump for my pond. When I started to assemble it, I realized that a small connector hose was an elbow shape and not a straight piece as it should have been (the elbow would have caused the airflow to be restricted and cause the pump to overheat). I called the manufacturer and spoke to Mitchell. We verified that I did receive the wrong piece and he is sending the correct one. He was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and answered all of my questions easily. He is also going to send recommended hose length for each of the 4 diffusers. The pump itself and all the parts are very well constructed and I do not feel like it was over priced for the quality.
