Spare me your judgement, but I admit to getting these to try out a Brad Mondo video tutorial on myself (EVERYONE tried the butterfly cut!) I got these to spare myself the hassle of trying to hack into my thick hair with the kitchen scissors. It's a great set for novices like me. The scissors are nice and sharp, as are the thinning shears. I was able to watch the tutorial and do a pretty good job (in my opinion) on my hair without much trouble.
