I once had some upper lip hair removed at a dermatologist and now have chin hairs that needed to go too. I was excited to try this laser hair removal kit at home and I’m pleased to say it works just as well. Everything you need is included: the laser device, protective glasses, a razor, and power cord with plug. The glasses look like regular sunglasses to me and the razor is an average one you’d get in a dollar store. The device itself is top-notch. I found it very easy to use with clear instructions in the accompanying manual. The razor only needs to be used the first time so it makes sense that it’s not fancy. I like that there are different intensities, 9 in fact. It needs to be used a couple times, each time the hair is less thick, before the hair and follicle are removed completely and won’t grow back. I’ve used it twice on those chin hairs and it’s been a few days with them not growing back so might not need to do it a third time. 

Note that laser hair removal does not work on white, red, or light blonde hairs, only darker ones. The device is comfortable to hold and fairly light. I like how long the power cord is. It needs to be plugged in while i use - it's not rechargeable. I also like that this has an automatic shut off feature if the device is not used for more than 5 minutes. I love that this device can also be used on acne and for skin rejuvenation. The different functions are shown on the LCD display, along with the lightwave intensity and number of remaining lightings (up to 999,900 - I think that means the total number of light pulses the devie can make. I’m not worried about there being a limit because the number is so high. I can’t see ever using it that many times).     • Easy to use and gets the job done
This is a great product for getting rid of hair. It is important to understand its limitations, especially as it applies to hair color. If your hair color is appropriate, however, it will let you do the treatments necessary to get to the point where the hair stops coming back. Easy and painless!

You have a LOT of choices for IPL hair removal devices on Amazon now. I feel like I have tested a crazy number of them myself, and at this point, I can tell you that most of them are quite similar functionally. There are differences in the aesthetics, or where the buttons go, or how they work, but most of these are produced in only a handful of factories and work about the same. There are some differences to be aware of: How powerful the device is, and whether it has active "ICE" cooling are two of the big ones. This particular IPL is pretty average. Average (or low-average) power (36W) and adequate features. Specifics of this IPL device: ** Has three modes: Hair removal (HR), skin rejuvenation (SC) and Acne (RA) ** 36W power supply (low-level) ** NO ICE skin cooling functionality ** LCD screen shows focus area and power level (1-9) ** Gun shape, more convenient in the hand ** The power cord attaches to the end of the unit (see photos) ** No attachments to change the flash end shape ** Rated for 999,999 flashes, 9 power levels. Using very slow-motion photography, I was able to capture a split-second (1/100th of a second) snapshot of the light (see photos). But the light duration is extremely short. There's a refractory period between flashes that is about a couple of seconds. (Better modesl can cut this down to less than a second). You run the tool over the area where you want to remove hair and make sure you expose all the hair follicles in that region. You will not see any immediate results. The light signals your hair to stop growing, but it requires multiple treatments over several weeks before you will be expected to see results. Eventually, you should find a substantial reduction in the hair in the treated areas. In the box, you get the tool, a power cord, a pair of eye protection glasses, a cheap disposable razor, plus instructions. This gun offers three modes: Hair removal (HR), Skin rejuvenation (SC), Acne mode (RA). Typically, if an IPL device offers these alternate modes, it will come with additional filters that attach to the front of the gun to focus the wavelength of the light. The usefulness of these alternative modes (outside of HR) is subject to debate. But in any event, they are generally based on focusing the light into a more narrow range than that used by HR. I can't attest to the usefulness/viability here, although it's easy enough to turn these modes on (press button on the back of the gun to switch mode). Overall, this is a pretty average entry-level IPL device, and although the additional modes is a plus, I remain skeptical about how useful they really are. Whether this is the IPL you want to buy depends a lot on whether this is competitively priced with similar entry-level units. I really enjoy using this remover and feel no pain. However you need to be smart and READ THE DIRECTIONS to ensure you use this correctly and do not burn yourself. And thank god for the Auto shut off!

I just got this and did the 1st time of using it. This can take weeks of use before you know if it really worked or not. I started on a very low number (2) and had no issues with burning. I had shaved first then used the gun. It was easy to hold and use. Large areas, of course, will take some time to do. I then put on moisturizer. I will give an update in 2 months. ... show more
