They're much thicker than your standard paper towel and as indicated they are quite hard when dry but soften significantly when wet. Initially I was concerned about their ability to absorb spills as that is the majority of what I use paper towels for but I've been pleasantly surprised so far. They work really well. To fully put them to the test I did not purchase new paper towels when I ran out and so far I've done just fine with only these for the last couple days. The designs are nice and well done. They work well to hand wash dishes, wipe off counters and appliances, etc. really absorbent when dry and great for mopping up spills from a toddler. Overally quite happy with these. Idk about the claim of longevity but I've been using only one for a couple days and it has shown no sign of wear yet. I am pretty impressed so far with the quality and usability of these Swedish dishcloths. The really do feel like a thick paper towel, but they don't disintegrate when you get them wet. The soak up a lot of water, and they wring out very well. They are solid enough and textured so that they wipe up messes well. So far the one I've been using still doesn't smell, and it's been hanging out at my sink for several days. Usually a standard wash cloth starts smelling after day one, no matter how much I've rinsed and wrung it out. Super easy to throw this in the dishwasher or laundry, and it's biodegradable when you've finally worn it out. These were a little stinky fresh out of the shipping package, but so far the smell has gone away with use. Definitely a good buy and good addition to the kitchen! ... show more

I haven’t used dishclothes in a few years, but when I saw these, I had to try them. With a beautiful design, these cloths are 70% wood pulp and 30% cotton. The designs are well printed, with a white border. The floral patter would go great with any kitchen, especially since the colors are neutral. So far, they seem durable, taking only a few hours to dry (if you ring them out properly). They can get stained, but not to easily. Cleaning wise, they have a diamond pattern on one side and a rolling pattern on the other. Well textured to help with cleaning. About a cm or more thick, these easily fold to clean the smallest parts of our dishes. I have not machine washed them yet, but they do well handwashed with a mild detergent. I love swedish cloths. These ones are well made. They absorb a lot of water, which is really great if you really need to use it as a wash rag. But, of course, you can wring them out and use them as a damp sponge. What I love about these are the designs. They have birds and floral designs almost like 19th century wall paper. They are a bit more muted than pictures, but very very pretty And, there are two in each design -- which is great because the designs are so pretty I am going to want to enjoy them twice. I absolutely love Swedish dish clothes. They are so practical and easy to use. I use them all over my house and got this set specifically for the kitchen. I really like the fruit designs which makes them perfect for the kitchen and helps to distinguish them from other ones you may have. I appreciate how easy they are to care for. I typically just throw the one or two I've used in the kitchen throughout the day in the dishwasher and they are ready for the next use. So much better than a traditional dish cloth. I chose these Swedish dishcloths for the fruit - just another subtle design feature for the kitchen. They are great for wiping down counters and cleaning dishes. But they cannot be used to wipe down stainless steel appliances - these cause streaks. But they do a great job in the kitchen and bathroom - cleaning sinks, counters, bathtubs. They are easy to grasp/hold and dry quickly. They are reasonably priced - I recommend for all things - except stainless steel. ... show more

These Swedish dishcloths are great for the kitchen. They take up very little room and are surprisingly absorbent and quick drying. They come in beautiful designs and the bonus is they are machine washable just like the traditional dishcloths. They are a more eco-friendly alternative to either paper towels or cloth towels. My favorite is the hummingbird one. I almost don’t want to use them. But I did. I just scrubbed with the back of it. When getting it wet, it feels like a mix of a washcloth and a sponge. It has a squishiness to it. I haven’t ran them through the laundry yet. So, we shall see how that goes. It seems so amazing how it works considering it’s made with wood pulp.
