This is honestly one of the best budget cars you can buy. The durability is amazing and so is the speed. I would recommend a good 2000mhz 3s battery for this car. The batteries that come with it are cheap and not the best. This thing does tumble a lot, which is a down side, but it is not terrible. The receiver is decent, just watch it doesn’t get stuck in the front axles. The motor is pretty good for its size, as well. The shocks that come with are decent, a little bouncy though.     • Don’t take to skate park. It exploded.
Had fun with it for a little, but it broke in 15 minutes when i took it to the skate park, the tires started wobbling and landed one jump a little funny, and the tire broke off. It started rolling and when that happened pieces went flying. And the receiver stopped working so it wasn’t driving very good. I thought it was a good car when I first got it but then it stopped working. Don’t buy. get something better. ... show more

    • Trophy Truck, Not a SCT. That's a good thing if that's what you're looking for.
Awesome little truck! Nice to find an inexpensive truck with a solid rear axle like a proper trophy truck. That said, you need to "drive" it. More prone to traction rolls than an SCT. I changed the shock oil and put grom tires on it(slows it a little, but ads much needed sidewall). Awesome to watch it blast over bumps and jumps. Good battery life and I have had it soaked and packed with snow with no issue. Worth the price. If you want an sct like the grom get the 3100a. ... show more

This thing is badass. Very easy to add a gyro and this thing tracks like a dream. The straight rear axle has a locked differential which helps the handling while throwing roosters in the dirt. This is the best 1/14 scale trophy truck out there. Crazy powerful with a 3s battery but infinite amount of fun on a 2s. Replacement parts are easy to get too ... show more

The media could not be loaded. BUY NOW! This rc car is the best one car I have ever driven. It goes like what 38 miles per hour. THAT IS CRAZY! Its controls are a little advanced and it is so fun to play with. In the manual it says that the controller will blink when it’s out of battery but it’s the car that blinks and makes noise. Even though I got to in winter and it shuts off because of the high amount of water that gets in the electronics it is the absolute best car ever! The controls have everything that you would ever need and want. It is way bigger than you think too. For such a good car it is pretty cheap not in a bad way. ... show more

    • Fun but don't have high expectations.
The speed is good on 2s it comes with. Steering servo is a hobbywing so it's good. My main issue with it are the shocks are absolutely horrible. Might as well not have any even completely pre-loaded they can barely hold up the weight. The oil they put in the shocks may as well be water. Way too thin. I had some traxxas 50 weight and it helped a little but still not good. Another thing is that it dont reverse every time. Sometimes you get so frustrated with it you just go pick it up and move it. Definitely not very comparable to other brands im used to. Don't think your getting losi or traxxas quality at least suspension wise. ... show more

    • Good trophy truck
This is getting bad reviews because HBX is advertising this as an SCT instead of as a baja truck. This is my 4th HBX truck and this is my favorite among all of them. Trailing suspension, solid rear axle, 3s capable, great design, realistic drive feel, this has everything I want out of the box. If I was not a beginner back then this would have been my first purchase from HBX. I love how it can articulate and drift when running. The possibility that the car can tumble if you're not careful with the throttle provides a realistic drive feel. Many other would see this as a negative but I love it. The transmitter and receiver could be better in terms of range but fortunately that can easily be replaced. The hobbywing ESC can be tricky to calibrate and setup but all the manual instructions you'll ever need are in the box. Overall I'm very satisfied with this buy. Edit. I'm knocking two stars off from this review for the two leaky front shocks. Rear shocks are consistently sealed good but the front shocks are gonna leak no matter what due to flawed design. Consistent shocks are important for trophy trucks such as this. ... show more
