We’ve learned that if we can’t afford a good product wait until we have the money, then buy. I looked around before ordering and found that cheap trellises cost about 30 to 80 dollars. Then they jump up to 2 hundred to whatever. We bought this one and had it put together and anchored down by a carpenter. He was doing small jobs around here and we asked if he would do this. As you can see he anchored it into cement. We really like it and I don’t think it will fall to one side or get wobbly. Very happy with purchase. Didn’t give it 5 stars because it hasn’t been tested over time. ... show more

Unbelievably surprised at the great quality of this trellis. I was hesitant on ordering because of the price, but definitely am pleased! There are 8 large spikes (not pictured) to drive into the base holes. (The pins pictured by the base holes are the hinge pins not the spikes). There are also 2 extra large spikes to drive into the ground (also not pictured), they sent zip ties to secure to trellis, but we wanted a more secure hold so used hose clamps to secure the trellis to the 2 extra large spikes. Overall a great sturdy trellis . I cant wait for my vines to start growing! ... show more

I love this Large Trellis Wrought Iron 2 Panel Garden Screen. I placed it next to a stucco wall and have a Clematis growing on each panel. When I came upon this trellis on Amazon, the picture and description almost seemed too good to be true. I took note of the reviews and held my breath when I ordered, hoping the trellis I received would not be damaged in shipment, cheap looking, or unstable. It was none of those things. Instead, its become a wonderful addition to my garden. At 75 lbs, there is no question that this trellis is heavy. In fact, I can see how it might become damaged during shipping due to its weight and bulk. The box was pretty battered when I received it (see picture) but nothing inside was damaged. It looked like one end of the box had broken open during shipment as a hole had been taped over. All eight hinge pins were missing and I suspect they were lost through this hole. However, I contacted H Potter and they immediately sent me replacement hinge pins. I put the Trellis up by myself (62 yr old woman in good health) and it took some effort balancing each panel while securing them and trying to get the angle of the panels just right in reference to the hinge. (I would recommend having two people for installation.) I installed the panels in an almost open position and was concerned about potential instability, as some reviews I read talked about leaning the panels against a wall for support. However, I found that the eight long earth nails that secure the trellis to the ground, along with two support posts, provide plenty of stability and in the three months since I installed the trellis it has not leaned, wiggled, or otherwise shifted. I didn’t use all of the earth nails because the angle at which I installed the panels prevented me from accessing the holes in the frame. Had I planned a little better, I probably could have manipulated the panels during installation and gotten all the earth nails in. ... show more

my guys told me that it is too small of a gage to weld. drilled holes and mounted using bolts. my application was to install it as the end on my deck. Looks very nice in that capacity. Wish there was an option to buy without mounting hardware if i could save a few dollars. On the bright side ground pins make for a nice poker for my grill :-) ... show more
