Style: Jungle Elf
This is my 4th book nook. This is quite easy to assemble - it took me less than a day, and granted I've got some experience at this point, but that was FAST - that said, it's got a lot of fiddly little parts - so definitely not great for small kids. I really liked the whimsical nature of this one, so many book nooks are libaries, it was really nice to have one that was a fantasy realm. And the light up effect is push button on/off with some color changing LEDs - a new look and it definitely fit well with the fairy fantasy vibe. I will say that having a push button (rather than motion sensor) on/off means I will very rarely think to turn it on or off... but maybe others will enjoy that more. I found I didn't need glue at all (no glue is included) - every piece fit together quite tightly, so I had no need to end up covered in craft glue. It really did come with everything you need. The intructions can be a little obtuse - but it's always really hard to convey alignment on stuff like this. Because i didn't need glue, it was pretty easy to take parts apart and realign with no damage - so big win there. It felt like this had fewer fussy little details than some others I've done, but it's also a cheaper price, so I think it fits well and is a good value, especially if this is your first try at these and don't want to get in over your head.

So this started off with me and my little one working together (she punched out the pieces) and I did the rest of the work for the most part. I would not recommend to small children (Supervision always a must) since some parts can get really small (like a tip of a pen). Font prints vary in sizes from magazine size to so tiny I needed reading glasses AND a small magnifying glass. I have put much harder puzzles together that are similar and found this one to be less complex. In saying this, there were still some complications like nubs snapping off and I had to resort to gluing. Only a couple pieces were like this. The most difficult parts were combining the larger sections together and lining them up properly. I would say that at least 85% lined up with matching holes correctly with some adjustment and gentle wiggling involved. I did not come across any holes that were too far off or not wide enough which was nice. Some of the instructions needed clarifying like #13 and the front door. I know I messed up on a few things that were NOT clear enough BUT for the most part the puzzle stands up and a lot of the directions were easy to follow. Things get confusing when instructions mention "front" or "back" and has a black and white drawing of what is supposed to be a colored piece so unless you memorized the front and back when you punched it out, it would've been a lot more helpful to have marks to represent back or front on larger pieces like the walls where both sides have designs or color. I had to follow the shape marked on the instructions at that point. Lighting was pretty easy-just make sure to take the caps off the switch so you can actually plug the wires in. Overall feels very stable once pieces are secured. I like the details even though some are not matching scale but it's still overall really CUTE. I believe it is advertised as taking about 3 hours to complete, but mine took 2 hours longer due to poor eye sight on tiny font and numbers AND some of the unclear instructions. Also, picture on box is NOT exactly what end product looks like. There are a lot more visible holes where puzzles nubs connect which is fine to me since it is a fun puzzle. If you are buying it for that and know what you are getting into then it works and it's a nice piece with less complex parts like larger 3D ones. If you are looking for more realistic or scaled pieces for a serious collection then might want to do more research. This is a nice and fun one and I actually enjoyed (minus a couple moments of frustration) working on this when compared to others.
