I had been trying out a selfie-style ring light for some videos, and while they were great if I also had supplemental lighting, they were not adequate for areas which were darker. And the best place in my house for videos gets almost no natural light. That's when I decided I needed a larger ring light. I went looking on Amazon for ring lights, but I didn't need something like an 18" or larger -- for the space where I'd be doing the videos, 18" was overkill. When I saw this 14" ring light (and saw that it had good reviews) I snatched one up. I have not been disappointed. The ring light came well-protected in its packaging. It has a nice carry bag if I want to take the light to different places. It was also very easy to set up and figure out how to use. The light is bright -- for the area I need illuminated, I only use it on the setting 26 -- which seems like it might be something akin to 26% because it can go way brighter. The tripod is sturdy, and the ring can rotate side-to-side a bit (not that I need it to, but it's a nice option to have). It does not, however, bend forwards or backwards -- kind of makes sense, seeing as the weight of the ring light might cause it to become unbalanced. If I had one wish, it would be that when the tripod was compacted as short as it could go...that it would go just a tiny bit shorter. The overall height when it's at its lowest is still a bit too high, so I've had to adjust my video setup. Still, it's not enough for me to deduct any points. And FYI, I have a Galaxy Note 8 and it worked fine in the clamp. I am very, very happy that I bought this ring light!!!

I'm glad I have this in my arsenal now. It's not the best in the market, but it's the best in it's price range. It's lightweight but the base is flimsy. I'd suggest weighting it down if using in studio or have more than one person behind the scenes. The remote and bluetooth are super easy to connect and use. The adjustments on the light offer super flexibility.

This is really very well built and a solid light! GVM has come through again, they pay attention to the details and build quality so the buyer gets great bang for the buck. The light itself offers great flexibility in color adjustment and brightness. I will need to use another stand if I am filming someone standing up, but the included piece is solid and manages the light well. The cord is nice and long too and firmly connects into the light. The Bluetooth remote is good if your using a cell phone, but won't work with a DSLR - cool to have around! From headshots to product and food shots, I am really glad I have this in my arsenal. It's really a great value; I highly recommend it!

Honest feedback is considered the ring of truth, so I shall speak through my LED light ring into my camera lens for various video projects. Whether on location or in corona captivity, my trusty GVM products are with me. Love the easy dials to make me light and bright or warm and norm. Plus the light ring is a one and done quick setup. BEFORE: with my other studio lights, it would take 15 to 30 MINUTES to setup. AFTER: now I can be ready to shoot with my webcam or prosumer unit in 15 SECONDS or less. My experiences with GVM products have been very satisfying.
