The "rug" was very soft and it didn't have the weird stickiness feel of other name brand throw rugs similar to this. The material to me was quite thin. After looking at it and truly thinking about how to keep clean in a home with 3 sons and a dog I folded it right back up and returned it! However if you like this type of material in a throw rug then I'd purchase this one over the gorilla one. I also did not want to let it get dirty etc as I realized we weren't keeping so I didn't wait the recommendation of 2 to 3 days for the creases to come out. It seemed very creased and irregular in the shape. Perhaps this would have lessened with the 48 to 72 hour time frame the product mentions. The rugs are nice and soft, the shag is just enough and the colors are good. It would be better if the backing were stiffer, they slip to easily.

In the image I had rolled the rug out on my king size bed to fluff it up. It came shipped in a vacuum sealed bag, inside a box. Upon arrival I thought there was no way the rug could possibly fit in the box it came in. As soon as I cut into the vacuum sealed bag the rug immediately began puffing up, it was very satisfying to watch. The rug seems very large and super soft. The backing is fabric with non slip gripper dots on it. Pretty good for the price point. The only negative is that it's pretty thin, almost blanket-like. This is a great rug to add some warmth into a bedroom next to the bed. Love the soft feel and dark color makes it easy to match and blend into any room. If you do not have a carpeted room it may be a little slippery without rug tape.

While the button does a good job of keeping the rug from slipping, I worry about small children or the elderly walking on this rug. It is just very slick.
