Features

  • Brand new vintage inspired electric guitar with offset appeal! Influenced by the iconic heritage and eccentric shapes of vintage Guilds, the all-new Guild Surfliner compliments the brand lineage by combining classic styling with modern features in an offset, solid body electric. The Surfliner features a fast-playing satin finished neck and a gloss body available in Catalina Blue, Sunset Orange, and White Sage Finishes.
  • Solid Poplar body with comfortable C shaped 25.5 scale maple neck. Sleek, contoured lines shape the asymmetric Poplar body, while a satin finished C-shaped neck provides smooth playing and tactile familiarity. Evenly balanced and shaped to fit comfortably at any strap height. Featuring a neck to body joint at the 17th fret.
  • Outfitted with three professional pickups in the versatile HSS format. One of Guilds few electric models to feature a 25.5 scale length, the longer string length pairs nicely with three pickups that offer everything from chiming, spanky lead tones to thick, compressed rhythm. Classic, vintage humbucking bridge tones ooze out of the Guild LB-1 bridge pickup and bring a usable array of tones from sparkly clean single coil-esque spank to thick and warm humbucker sounds that fatten and sing when driven. Blending perfectly with the biting single-coil tones of the two new Dearmond Aerosonic middle and neck pickups.
  • Guilds Rocker Pickup Switching System offers easy access to 7 pickup combinations. The Surfliners sound is driven by the Guild Rocker Pickup Switching System, with master volume, tone control, and 3 rocker switches. Each rocker switch is assigned to a single pickup allowing players to dial in a total of 7 pickup combinations, every possible combination available from the three pickups.
  • The LB-1 Bridge pickup is a recreation of vintage Guild Humbuckers from the 60s offering a range of tones well-suited for a variety of playing styles and genres. The middle and neck pickups are a matched set of Dearmond Aerosonic middle and neck single coil pickups. These pickups feature Alnico V magnets and a shielded nickel cover.
  • Natural wood has unique spirit and varies greatly in color richness and wood grain; Product shipped may appear lighter or darker in color than the product shown here.

  • Outstanding!
This guitar exceeds expectations. Arrived quickly and setup was nice right out of the box. Very comfortable to play and very nice looking. This thing makes jangly/spanky sounds that none of my other guitars can do. Puts my Tele to shame. It suddenly made me want to learn a bunch of Smiths songs. I haven't seen better craftsmanship at this price point. It's quality you can feel in your hands. My only concern was the packaging did not seem adequate - single box, one piece of styrofoam against the bottom of the guitar, and a folded price of cardboard around the headstock. I felt lucky that it arrived unscathed. Highly recommend finding one at your local store and trying it for yourself. Unless you're after death metal, you will fall in love. ... show more

  • Nice style
Good guitar, however mine came needing fret polishing and I didn't like the light neck, so I darkened it with old English. After a few minutes work, it plays wonderful. Very good deal if you are handy and like cool looking guitars.

  • Quality for the money
Excellent guitar. Retro styling with a really attractive color scheme and aesthetics. Quality that far outpaces the price. Easy to use on/off switches for pick-ups. Excellent tone and came set-up and ready to play. Excellent guitar for someone looking for a quality instrument at a near beginner level price point. ... show more

  • COLOR/BUILD
Cool guitar. Color more to the Pale green-Silver. Frets not worked, needs to be set-up. Sonically good. Barely fits in a Strat case. dj

  • Unplayable.
Neck was sanded wood; no finish. Every fret had spurs at both ends.

  • Great guitar!
Well set up out of the box. Packaging was a bit mishandled but no damage to guitar. The neck and fingerboard were a bit dry. The strings needed to be replaced. Based on some of the other reviews I’ve read, some expectation management is needed. You are ordering a guitar off of the internet and receiving it strait from the shipper. When you go to a guitar shop and buy an instrument it has been set up, the strings have been changed, any rough frets have been touched up, the fret board and neck (if unfinished) have been oiled. This is an amazing guitar for the money. That doesn’t mean it may not need a setup, or a truss rod adjustment out of the box. My set up was great out of the box, that’s pretty lucky. Even though these instruments are set up prior to shipping, they are coming from Indonesia. Temperature and humidity changes can cause the set up to foul in shipping. A rough fret or two on a sub $500 guitar is not an issue. Take it to your local shop, have it set up and adjusted with some brand new strings. I’m super happy with it and I think most players will be too. ... show more
