I got this as a Father's Day gift for my dad because his broke. He seems to like it, as I come home to hear him jamming out with it. He said he really likes the size and how lightweight it is, because he takes it outside with him when he is gardening or working on something in the garage. It gets pretty loud, and the antenna seems to pull in all of the stations he listens to. My only complaint is that the cd door doesn't open very high, which wouldn't be a problem for normal people, but my dad was in an accident years ago and his hands are messed up because of it, and it's a little difficult for him to get his cd in there. He will figure something out to make it easier, though.. he always does.

I live in a neighborhood with more dogs than people ... so since they all bark lots waking me up I need to play a CD on repeat all night that is of surf breaking to help mitigate all the barking. I had a really great player from Target for many years but it finally stopped working. And now I see you can no longer get one of that same quality sound anymore :((( ... so I settled for this one. It works fine for hearing the CD surf ... but not for my music enjoyment ... unless one is not picky like am as a boomer. (Wish I could find someone to fix my old one, but sadly we now live in a era of cheap throw aways :(((

I was worried about the size. It's smaller than normal boom boxes. But, the sound it puts out is wonderful and crystal clear. It's want I needed and wanted. Excellent buy for the money.

Bought this specifically because I was going camping and wanted SOMETHING that took batteries and NOT rechargable. It's very hard to find anything that isn't anymore. I put batteries in it. And off i went on my 4 day camping trip. This thing worked great. It was in about 15 hours a day for 5 days and the batteries are still going. The sound is good. And the fm radio does work with the antenna. Very happy with this purchase.

Seems like a good unit but I wanted something to listen to NPR on the radio while I worked in the garden. Didn't get good enough reception for NPR and when I played music, wasn't very clear and not much bass. Maybe I am expecting too much for a small boombox.
