  • Great price and great performance
Size: 250W
I have had this in a 5 gallon chicken water feeder all winter. Temperatures have gotten down to 10 degrees Fahrenheit. It has kept the water ice free. It kicks on and off automatically. I highly recommend.

  • Awesome
Size: 500W
This thing is a life saver... literally. My husband unplugged it and forgot to plug it back in when it went down to 19 degrees. This may have happened more than once.. Needless to say it was frozen completely inside the water bucket.. when I plugged it back in each time it thawed the bucket out pretty swiftly. Super happy with it. ... show more

  • The unit didn't work right out of the box.
Size: 250W
I purchased the unit to keep my geese's drinking water from freezing. The online product specifications stated it would turn on at 35 degrees Fahrenheit and off at 77 degrees. Sadly, the unit never worked, so I was disappointed. The enclosed specifications of the unit indicated a turn-on time of 10 degrees, which is different from the Amazon posting. Our outside temperature never dipped below 20 degrees Fahrenheit, so that may be the problem. Either way, the geese went without warm water during the frigid night. ... show more

  • Just Right
Size: 250W
I’m using this to keep my fountain, that my back yard birds use, running all winter. It’s been great. The birds have loved having the running, drinkable water on freezing days. We had a week long very cold snap, it kept the fountain running with just a small amount of ice near the edge. I was curious to see if it made a difference in my electric bill, it did not. Wish I had bought it years ago. ... show more

  • Great for my over ez waterer
Size: 250W
This worked perfectly in my Over EZ Chicken waterer. Haven’t had any issues even in -40 cold this winter. Kept my water unfrozen and ordered a second one for a second coop.

  • Works as advertised
Size: 250W
The longer cord is a plus. Many bird bath heaters I looked at had very short ones. Prospective buyers should make sure that the bird bath they intend to use this device in is deep enough to keep the heater fully submerged. The water level in the basin should be checked frequently to ensure that the heater remains submerged. The heater out of water is tantamount to a fish out of water—neither will last long. ... show more
