The media could not be loaded. After trying several chemical algae products and fine pond filters (and killing 3 fish in the process) I made a pump filter box out of a 5 gallon bucket with outlets to UV light and PVC fountain. Installed ball valve to control rate to UV light vs fountain. I could tell a difference in 24 hours and after 3 days the pond is almost clear. So great to see my Koi again and they appear healthy and happy! ... show more

Initial product did not work (no UV light) but great support from the seller. Replacement works beyond expectations. I have a 300 gallon pond with a bog filter but still had unclear green water. The clarifier totally eliminated the string algae until the bulb failed after only eight months. What I'm finding is some clarifiers require a bulb nearly as expensive and the original unit. When purchasing a clarifier, determine replacement bulb costs because they seem to vary in price with different manufactures significantly. For this clarifier, this bulb is $43.47, for eight months. Ponds are a pain in the wallet. I replaced the bulb for $43.47, and this second bulb lasted two months! So, string algae is back and my wallet is empty. Bought it 14 months ago and it's already failing. Noticed our pond was losing water over a few days and found the casing was split down the middle. This is the second light we've bought and the second time this has happened. I shouldn't have to replace every year.
