You need to select the right tarp for your application whether you are covering a canopy, carport, construction job, tent frame, outdoor event, yard project or wedding. [Construction]Poly Tarps are typically made of multiple layers with a woven mesh fabric sandwiched between two or more polyethylene sheets. [Reference Parameter]Tarp Thickness– This is the actual thickness of the tarp measured in mils (1/1000 of an inch). The larger the number, the thicker the tarp. Typical light weight tarps found in most retail or hardware stores are about 4~6 mils. If you are planning a heavy duty use, such as covering a carport, consider a heavy duty tarp at 10 to 12 mils. Reinforcement– Tarps have additional reinforcement around the perimeter of the tarp to help prevent ripping and tearing.Perimeter rope– This is a rope which has been sewn inside the hem at the edge of the tarp to add reinforcement strength to the tarp.Hem– The hem is formed by folding the edge of the tarp back onto the tarp and then stitching the entire hemmed area. Most tarps are about 6” undersize of the advertised dimension because they are sized before they are sewn together. This one is true to the advertised size with great accuracy. It is a really heavy duty tarp with large cloth netting between the layers. I expect this will last a long time. I purchased two to use as a blast shield and debris catcher around my wood lathe. It seems they are totally up for the job. I like how I can still see through them and have natural light in the shop. The transparency also lets them blend in so they aren’t a brightly colored eyesore. The grommets fit a 1/2” bolt with large washers for weight and to keep them stiff. The grommets were tight but sturdy enough through my installing the hardware. After seeing these in person, I would buy them again, and I’ll probably buy more. ... show more

This is thick and great quality. Put it up over a patio, wanting clear for the light to come through. It's at an angle so rain runs off and it's working great. Another thing I love is that it didn't have any kind of strong stench like plastic.

I use this tarp (8' x 20') in my garage on a ceiling track system (Rockler) to separate my woodworking area from cars and RV to keep the dust from power tools contained. I like the white semi-transparent pattern, which provides a bit of privacy but keeps things clean and bright looking. The eyelets are reinforced (corners) and so far it's been holding up to me swishing the tarp back and forth on the track system. It's a bit stiff, so the fold lines have yet to work themselves out (maybe won't), but that's just something to note. It doesn't get wet at all since I only use it inside, so I can't speak to how it holds up in bad weather. I think it's a good value for the money for what I use it for. ... show more

I was tepid for the negative reviews on poor quality. We got a good batch apparently. We have it stretched tightly over a rough cattle panel trellis frame for our garden. It’s held up well through a couple rough wind Houston storms, which is quite a testament. We shall see if the UV claims are legit as the index is 10+ this coming week. I expect that this tarp will hold up well to the weather. We just had a wind storm and this heavy tarp help up perfectly. So many cheaper tarps the grommets pull out very easily. This tarp has a lot of reinforcing and the grommets seem very sturdy and there are enough of them to protect the integrity of the tarp. This company offers many unusual sizes and I think their prices are incredibly fair, especially considering the superior quality of their product.
