As other reviews point out, it is aluminum clad copper...it is what it is so just use it for the correct application. I used it for in-car low amperage runs, basically just to power a backup camera and send the reverse light signal to head/video unit. Several comments: 1. With my automatic stripper it stripped easy, no broken strands. 2. Very flexible, which is either good or bad depending on your application. 3. For me it took/wetted solder just fine. I used an iron with MG flux, and in some cases those heat-shrink butt joint thingies with the low-temp solder inside you just melt with a lighter...both seemed fine. I agree with others that it probably wouldn't do great outdoors in the sun, and you need to be mindful of the amps you put through it, but when this stuff is on sale it's a good deal for what it is. ... show more
