  • Works as intended!
Style: Solar Panel 200W
My application is for a EF Delta 2. Box arrived undamaged, easy setup. Providing its real-world wattage with full sun. Location is Indiana at 6PM in July facing east. Pros: Easy setup, plug and play, no gimmicky on board phone charger, just a panel with MC4 leads. Good build quality. Outputs reasonable-accurate real-world power levels. Possible Con(s): -(Long) I feel like I may break it trying to unfold it?. It's a 'rigid' material, which is good, but it does making slight crackling sounds if you put enough pressure when trying to set it up. Like holding it and leaning the panel back to setup legs, I had to press to hold it and with thumbs on front, sort-of like a bending direction to keep it from falling forward. I made sure to hold the very edge, avoiding the actual solar cells. I THINK it's just the material used and it will be okay. - It's heavier than I expected, but if it's durable, that's fine. Conlusion: First day I'm happy with my purchase. It was a little higher on my ideal budget for a portable panel, but better value for 200w vs $450 for ecoflow 160w. ... show more

  • Soaks up the sun
Style: Solar Panel 200W
I purchased this to charge my portable electric generator. My power had dropped below 50% so I set it up in my driveway to charge with in a matter of hours I was back to 100% charged. I’m looking at purchasing a larger capacity generator to power additional appliances in my home as well as my campsite. ... show more

  • 160W ?
Style: Solar Panel 200W
Clear skys, 90 degree orientation, 8000ft above sea level, full sun…. The max I can get is 160W. I emailed the company to ask if this is normal and did not get a response. I like the portability, but need 200W… as advertised. Buy accordingly.

  • No frills and expensive
Style: Solar Panel 100W
I got this panel to supplement my 120 and 60W panels that go with my battery bank. I don't have the solar for camping, but in case the electrical grid pops for a few days - I will be able to power lights, fans, maybe even a hotplate, and radios when everybody else has no power. Since I have two panels already, I thought I would apples to apples compare them. First, this is a heavy panel set. The Growatt panel weighs more than my 120W existing panel by about a pound. The case is hard on one side, but not the other, and neither side is truly padded. The Growatt comes with no other accessories except the attached cables. There are two kickstands on the panels - and they are supposed to stay closed via magnets when not in use. Unfortunately for me, the magnets are not lined up very well or very strong, so the kickstand flaps around when moving the panel. In the pics, you can see the Growatt panel on my existing 120W panel. I set them up like this so I could quickly compare the charge rate before the sun moved. I laid the panels flat to get the same angle to the sun for all of the tests. Fortunately, my battery bank came with a slew of connectors, and the connectors were set and ready to go before I started testing. I plugged each panel in individually, so that there would be no interferences, and all panels were swapped in less than 10 minutes for the test. All of the panels stabilized within 30 seconds or less, so I think this comparison is valid, but not definitive. The Growatt panel was producing 73 watts, so has a rough efficiency of 73%. My 120W panel produced 82 watts for 68%, and the 60 watt panel made 47 watts for 78%. The Growatt panel splits the difference between my existing panels, and looks pretty good compared to the 120W panel. The Growatt panel is sturdy - it flexes much less than my other panels - and you can feel the difference in the weight. The lack of external pockets is not a deal breaker for me, but I worry that a plug will sneak between the panels and crack one. Fortunately, this panel will live at home where it is safe. I had no problems with the connector as I have many adapters - but I would look into this before getting too much equipment, that may not be compatible out of the box. What can I say, but it works! ... show more

  • Durable design and construction, but on the heavy side.
Style: Solar Panel 100W
This is not the most compact 100W portable panel available on Amazon at 23.74 x 21.22 inches, and certainly not the lightest at over 8 pounds. Where this panel excels is its durable design construction. While it's not ideal for a hothatch, it will live comfortably behind a seat or in a closet of an RV, and take a beating for years to come. The carrying case has one rigid side to help protect the panel from being bent, and the panel itself is built in a durable laminated fashion with a rigid backing. In other words, this thing is beefy! The kickstand is of a self-adjusting suspension design so there is no fiddling with hook/loop material. Simply angle it as you want to and the strap and bungee suspension system does the rest. Clever, and effective. Unfortunately, while the carrying case encloses everything as it should, you do not get a pocket to store extra cables, and the panel itself does not come with any extra cables (only what is built in). This is a notch below other offerings in the category as most of them do come with additional cables. Performance wise, I have noted peaks in the mid 80W range at 1PM on a clear day, with an adjusted average of around 55W taking sun angle, clouds and some partial shade into consideration. This is right in line with the 75% rule for real world vs. laboratory ratings of solar panels. Overall, this is definitely a winner for the right kind of consumer. If you favor durability over portability, then this may be the portable panel for you. If you camp out of a hatchback or wagon, then I think a more compact three-section foldable or rollup stile panel may be more in line with your needs. I am rating this panel 4 stars due to the higher price point and lower portability relative to other portable 100W panels, and the lack of an included adapter for the MC4 connectors that seems to be included with most other panels in this class. While it lacks in those areas, it does excel in the durability department, and does deliver on the rated performance. That being said, I still consider this a good buy and certainly do recommend it to any consumer that doesn't need the space savings as much as they need the durability. ... show more
