Right off the bat I was concerned that these don't just have a normal power cord, they have a USB plug that attaches to a separate dongle that then plugs into the wall. I set these lights up, plugged them in, and walked away for a couple minutes. When I came back, the USB dongle part was making horrifying electrical humming/popping/crackling noises loud enough to be heard from the other room. A versatile solution to unique situations! I got one of the gooseneck style grow lamps a while ago and while it worked well for my little plants, I needed something more flexible for my big ones. This light solves that issue! Stick em wherever you need em! Nails, zip ties, command strips, whatever works is fair game! These light strips are lightweight enough to stick anywhere without worry, and they're bright enough to make a difference. As an extra plus, the cable from the light heads is separatable all the way to the remote, so you're not confined to all four heads in one spot. Need two on one side and two on the other to even out a leaning dracaena? Got it covered. You can even go full 360 and surround a plant, if it needs a lot of light. There's a timer to make life easy, and they even include a wall plug adapter, a rarity nowadays. Overall, great value and it's an easy choice your plants will thank you for! ... show more

When I notified seller that the adapter plug was not in the package, all I got was an apology - no offer to send the missing part. The adapter is pictured but not specifically mentioned in the description. So, that leaves me uncertain if I'm actually being stupid. I have one from the unit I bought last year (it died after one season). edit: When the seller read my review, they offered to send a replacement. The first unit didn't work with my old adapter, so I was pleased to get a whole other replacement. The first unit didn't work with the new adapter. The second unit doesn't work on the timer, but it does on and off manually. It's a pain but I can keep my plants alive over the winter. ... show more

Don't hesitate. This thing is so well conceived, I'm a little surprised these days. First, there are four lights, and each light is on a separate strand. The whole unit is a four-strand cord, but the strands are fused together. BUT, you can separate them as far as you need to in order to suit your needs. This way, you can (as I've done), use it in your greenhouse with one light secured to each level, and still keep loose cord length to a minimum. That's the first bonus. Next, you can adjust the intensity and "heat" (warm/more yellow or cold/more white-bluish light) of the lights. You can adjust the timer in 3-hour intervals, up to a full 12 hours of light. Third, you can turn off one, two or three of the lights if you choose. I numbered each light with a marker so that I knew in which order they turn off, and I could therefore secure the correct lights in the correct places, since I'm only using two of them. The other two, I can turn off by cycling through the lights. This was a bonus I didn't expect and very much appreciate. I wouldn't have expected a feature like that in such an inexpensive unit. Finally, you can either plug this into a USB charging socket, or you can use the included AC/DC charging plug. So, whatever socket you have nearby---USB or direct---you're good to go. Someone was really thinking when they designed this! I'm still surprised at how well-conceived this is, especially at this price! ... show more

This is an excellent grow light for small spaces. The 4 lights can be spread out as needed, and the lights are built with a really solid aluminum frame. When it arrives, the cord doesn't allow the lights to be spread apart too much, but you can peel the cords apart to move them apart. The light is powered by USB, and comes with a 5V3A adapter - I have also tested it and it works with a more common 2A adapter This light will make a great all-season growing area when installed under a counter or into a book shelf. I love these they are BRIGHT!!! Whatever the stage of your plants it seems like it's going to work perfectly throughout the year. I live in a colder climate. I just managed to grow an avocado tree and it's probably about a foot-and-a-half tall. So this will work perfectly for winter time to make it super happy. I also have faith that it will work perfectly for my other plants as well. This product was super easy to assemble onto something. The stick pads they provide, are amazingly convenient for the drill holes. I built this shelf like a year ago and they were so perfect for it.. it comes with zip ties so that way your cords can stay in place. All around amazing product! ... show more

I had plants that I had to move inside as it cooled down for winter. I had a small grow light, but it wasn't adequate and so I looked at options and chose this product. Setup was easy. There were 8 zip-ties, 4 glue strips, and a set of screws for different placement methods. I used the zip-ties for now, and installed over my plants. I plugged in the device and I set the 12 hour timer along with the brightness level. I didn't play with all the controls because that was all I needed to do for my needs.
