The helical and spiral cutterheads provide a smooth finish with minimal tearout, and are a great option for high-producing shops. Key features: Easily flatten and smooth lumber with a top-quality planer Our 3- and 4-knife planers offer exceptional high-speed steel (HSS) knives that have been heat treated for hardness and wear resistance; HSS keeps a sharp edge longer than other carbon steels. These efficient planers offer between 15” and 20” planing capacity. The exceptional quality of these machines is clear – key features include precision-ground cast-iron tables and extension wings, adjustable bed rollers, anti-kickback fingers, and a magnetic switch with thermal overload protection. The 4-row helical cutterhead contains up to 92 indexable inserts; these inserts can each be rotated three times to expose new, sharp cutting edges. The inserts sit at a slight angle to the workpiece for even shearing cuts, minimized tearout, and a smooth finish.
