  • I am in love with this machine
I just ran a bunch of chair legs through...not one tear out, grain orientation did not effect the results. I am in love with this machine!

  • Good machine , good price
Just finished assembling my Grizzly G1026 3HP Shaper. This is the 4th Grizzly machine that I own. The quality of their machines have improved over the years. The shaper assembled easily and quickly. I purchased the dust port, router spindle and a mobile base for it. I too had to clean the oil /wax off the table and all unpainted surfaces. In all honesty I would rather spend a half hour cleaning off that stuff than hours cleaning off rust. The machine was packed well and the directions for assembly were concice. The only thing I did not prefere was the 20amp plug included on at the end of the cord. I prefere a twist plug, so I put one on. The spindle has very little run out . I checked mine and had less than .0002 TIR ( total indicator reading) I also made saw dust with it to try it out. Works better than expected. The only thing remaining is to permanently hook it up to my central dust collector unit. I would recommend this machine to any person looking to buy a Delta, Jet or Powermatic. Yes it is less money than the aforemention brands but don't let that fool you. It has the same HP and table size as the others. I am hoping that it will outlast me and my skills in the years to come. ... show more

  • Just got my shaper and so far so good!
Price can't be beat. Only drawback (so far) is the clean up of the grease and oil. Have a lot of rags and some kind of degreaser ready. They cover the bare metal with a grease/wax of some sort and put all kinds of oil in the small parts bags. On the up side, I didn't notice any rust and that's the whole idea. I was expecting much less than I got with this shaper. It has a nice fence, good fit and finish and solid running motor. There is no dust collection port on the fence, however. So, it is necessary to fabricate one to attach to the rear. I am skeptical about how well that will work though. The cutter area has many openings where chips can fly and even with rear dust collection chips will find their way out, I believe. All in all, I feel I got a good machine. ... show more

  • Good, but needed a fix
This shaper is a solid value and works well, however, while I was assembling the shaper I noticed the fence was out of line by about an 1/8 of an inch. Manual says to shim the fence boards, but don't bother. Instead take a closer look at the screw holes in the housing cover where it attaches to the table top. One of the holes was clearly not where the other one was. After spending time elongating the hole, I could finally get the two fences to line up. Other than that, no problems. Also, comes with a cast iron hand wheel instead of the plastic one whown in the photos. ... show more

  • Wright Cabinets
Useful machine - we have 2 in the shop and they work well in tandem doing production rails and stiles for doors, windows and cabinet ends. Not sure that they are up to the job of working all day on the raised panels that we do but then we also have a 5hp beast that does that with a power feeder. All in all, a good buy for the dollar and I would rather buy three of these rather than one of 3 combo machines that Grizzly make. Better than the Delta and not nearly as expensive as the Powermatic... ... show more
