  • Accurate and great value, buying more soon.
Works great for warming and holding temp accurately. I have used it to raise and hold 15 gal. and 95 gal. tanks of water from 65F to 100F. Takes time for larger tank because it's 1500w and 120v about 4 hrs. but slow warming is what I needed. 15gal. tank takes 45min. for that temp. span. Heat guard works great, safe for plastic tanks. ... show more

  • Portable Seawater Heater for Fish Tank
Apart from heating normal tape water, this can be used to heat seawater, because of the titanium material. Because of that, these can be used for salt water fish tanks and Seawater Aquacultures. These water heaters are compact that you could carry while you travel as well. The heater itself is very well made with outer protective coverings. The temperature controller is a huge advantage wherein you can measure the current water temperature and set it to a desired value with auto shutoff and auto on. With that, it opens up a wide range of applications. We used 2 of these to heat an entire birthing pool and it was able to heat up the entire pool quickly enough to almost 100F within 30 minutes with fall cold water from tape. The one thing I observed with the temperature senor is with large quantity of water like a pool, the temperature varies differently at layers and you get the measurement according to how deep your sensor is in the water. The bottoms are always warmer that the surface due to its contact with cold air. Once in a while gently mixing the water would give more accurate results. Also, this wont be an issue with a bucket of water. Overall, this is a must if you have requirements to heat water where you don't have access to hot water or for your travel needs. You can see it in action as soon as you turn on and the bubbles starts to popup. The temperature controller makes it easier to set and maintain temperature according to the fish or Aquaculture needs. ... show more

  • Get prepped for the freezing winter months.
I haven't actually used it yet, because our temps are still in the 80's, but I know for sure that I will be in the freezing months ahead. Whether it's the pipes in your house, or the water your animals outside need to drink everyday, when it freezes its all a big pain. And for me, the faster the better, I absolutely hate cold weather. It's imperative that chickens always have clean water available to them, and they can't lick the ice like other animals. Last year I was out there atleast once , sometimes twice a day with a hammer breaking up the ice in their waterers. I'll be well prepared this year. I've had several of these before, but none quite as nice. In fact, a few were down right dangerous. It also comes with a temperature regulater, which is a BIG plus because you can't really tell how warm your water is getting otherwise without unplugging and removing your heater. It's also going to be nice to have on hand if we lose power, along with our generator we'll still have hot water for bathing and dishes. It's important to be prepared for the hard times. Don't wait for them to get here, you might not be able to find any of these. Just saying. ... show more

  • Very powerful and long cord is perfect
I needed a water warmer for my outdoor pond. I needed one strong enough to heat the pond with a long cord. I had to make sure it's fish safe as well to protect my little fish. This was it! It comes with a thermostat and a digital read. If you want to warm the water to a specific temperature, make sure you keep the thermometer in the water otherwise you might fry your fish. Lol I used it during the day and it was able to heat up my 500 gallon pond from 65 to 70 in a few hours. I also ran it at night to find out exactly how much electricity it uses per hour when it's running straight. On average, my electricity usage during the 7pm-8pm window is anywhere from 0.35 - 0.40 kwh as shown in the pictures capturing a couple day's data. On the night I turned on the heater, during the same 7pm-8pm window it seems to use ~1.4kw additional per hour. Luckily I have solar, but if you don't, this should allow you to calculate how much it could possibly start costing you in electricity bills. I think it has a safety feature where when you first plug it in, it starts on the OFF mode. You have to physically click the ON button. If you're like me and plan to use this with an outdoor smart outlet, it won't work that well. Every time you turn off the outlet, it'll turn off the heater, which is good. But then when you turn the plug back on, it won't automatically turn on the heater. You'll have to go physically turn on the heater. Just something to keep in mind. It'll be a little rough during the winter, but I suppose it's better than nothing. ... show more

  • it can heat the water fast
First , this thing is super heavy duty! I got this for a 20 gallon fish tank and held off on putting it in. I am glad I did because if I did , this would have killed all of them. I put this in a test 5 gal bucket set the temp prob in before I knew I was supposed to put the float thing which they don't make very clear that you need it. the temp I set was 86F after an hour I went in and checked it was 120 degrees., i moved the temp prob and let it float and eventually after several hours did get to the temp and Kept it at that temp. I do not think that this is meant for a small 20 gal tank. I also dont think this should be used for fish tanks. this should be used for like stock tanks or even a pool up to 300 gallons. I am giving 3 stars because with such a powerful heater they need better instructions and possibly videos on things it can be used for. plus the price is way too high with that little of thought put into the customer experience. ... show more
