This is a rug. *emphasis on "period." It does the job *period* It is a nice size, for sure! The color is just as I had hoped it would be according to the pics. It feels great but, it looks kinda low grade (aka inexpensive). I wouldn't consider this rug necessarily thick and/or weighty. If you're looking for a temporary way to spruce up a space, on a low budget, this is the way to go.

I got this to replace our previous rug that had been soiled one too many times by our small dog. I ordered the grey rug & it is quite soft & comfortable. We use a foam mat under this (the kind you might find in a martial arts school) for additional padding. My husband & son enjoy having a soft rug to lay on, as it is much more comfortable than the hardwood floor. We hope to get many years out of this rug!

THe shaggy rug arrived very quickly, well packaged, and undamaged. I don't know if this will happen to all of the buyers, but this is what happened to me. I have three dogs (they belong to my children and now they left them here with me). One is a Border Collie and the others are a chihuahua mix and a rat terrier. They are all males. The Border Collie has these spaz attacks where he chases shadows when he gets excited. (He actually goes nuts over the laser for the cat. They play "chase the laser" together! WHen my son (the Border Collie's boy) went to AF Basic Training, the dog became depressed. When we found out that my son's first duty station was Ramstein, Germany the dog became even more depressed. He began chewing the carpets in my house (I only have carpet upstairs, in my Master Bedroom, and a spare room where the computer is). He chewed the carpet everywhere downstairs. So, I had to find rugs to cover the holes! Yes, he chewed all the way through the carpet and almost to the slab. I had tried many types of rugs and he chewed through the rugs too. He especially didn't waste any time on the wool ones!! Now, when I got this one, he DID NOT chew on it (which says something about this rug). I guess since it was a shaggy rug he liked to lay down on it and not chew on it. Therein lines the problem. THe rug has a rubbery type polka dotted backing. I am thinking that this rug is for hardwood floors only. The rug became bunched up in the area that I had placed it. Pretty soon, every piece of grass the dogs drug in, the toys they shredded, the bones they ate, ANYTHING they were destroying ended up on this shaggy rug! I could see pieces of plastic and grass and stuffing embedded in the shaggy carpet. It does say that it is machine washable, but I just knew all of that stuff would not come out so I disposed of the rug. Now, my circumstances are very unusual. If you are purchasing the rug for a hardwood floor, I think this is the rug for you. I believe it would perform and look much better on a hardwood floor. That is just my opinion , though. I really wanted to like this rug. I just felt like it was a velcro magnet for all the trash that the dogs are associated with. The rug is not overly heavy. It is pretty light and I am able to tote the large size that I got with ease. Remember, I never attempted to wash the rug in the washing machine. So, I may be wrong about the debris coming off.

So I’m gonna start by saying I absolutely love this thing. For the prize it is absolutely unbeatable. It’s easily Washable and easy to vacuum. It’s a small rug, but it is comfortable to walk on. It seems highly durable and resistant to stains and dirt. Overall extremely happy with my purchase. I would definitely recommend anybody looking for a small area rug. That is absolutely stunning.

When I received delivery I was sure the wrong item was sent, as it came in a small padded envelope. Upon opening it was vacuum sealed and fluffed up once unwrapped. But paper thin with no weight to it and the material was silky/slippery. Likely wouldn’t hold up very long if washed.
