We recently adopted a 5-month-old dog, so I don't have much experience with dog products/brands. However, we have purchased several different dog beds, and our dog has used each one extensively. Thus, I have some insight as to how this model by OhGeni compares to the other beds in our home. Like other beds I have received, this product comes vacuum sealed and tightly rolled. Clear instructions for set up were printed on the box, and a card was included as well. The instructions explain how to fluff the bed and advise that the bed be left to air out for at least 24 hours. Upon reading this, I was concerned there would be heavy off gassing, but (surprisingly) there were not any offensive odors at all. The bed itself is a fairly firm egg crate-style pad. Coverings include a waterproof liner and an outer cover that is made of a soft, corduroy material. The liner and cover were easy to get on the bed's base -- I didn't have to wrestle them on like some other brands I have purchased. Also, the zippers open and close well, which is a plus. The bottom of the outer cover has grippy nubs on it, which are meant to prevent the bed from sliding around on the floor. However, they only offer minimal slip resistance, so expect some movement if your dog tends to jump or flop onto his/her bed. Overall, I think all the components are well made and seem to be holding up well, especially considering the reasonable price of this product. I will state that this seems to be my dog's least favorite bed, likely because it is because it is firmer and more supportive than this other fluffy/plush beds.

So we have gone through many types of dog beds from the worn out pillows to the ones on sale at the big box stores. One major problem always pops up, the ability to wash them when they inevitably get dirty. While some have no removable lining. Others even if they do have a lining half the dirt goes through to the bed anyway. If you manage to solve those problems you have another one that pops (or doesn’t) up in ordering online. To ship dog beds most companies opt to vacuum seal or compress the mattresses to save on shipping. Which I totally get and agree with, the problem is the bed regaining shape or popping back to where they should be. - So this bed came in pretty well packaged, not quite vacuum sealed but compressed. - Thankfully it was easy to “uncompress”. As opposed to some others that we have tried that took a ridiculous amount of time to open without cutting the mat itself. - I was very surprised at how quickly this one regained its original shape, in mere minutes. - The padding itself is very thick and great for any little dog. It is so soft even those with joint issues really like it. It is “egg crate” foam and won't fall apart or clump overtime as just stuffing will. - Not only is the outer lining very soft, it is made out of sturdy material and well crafted, not rips/tears or loose seams. - The zipper is of pretty nice quality, not cheap and brittle. -The inner padding is covered by a water resistant case as well so even if stuff gets past the first linner it won’t get the padding, which is a big bonus. -It has little grippers on the bottom so it doesn't slide around, which held quite a bit. So overall I am very happy with the quality of this bed and the thought that went into the washability of it all. I would definitely recommend this bed to any fur parent.

Dog beds have gotten so expensive, and this one is priced well for the size. I got the large bed 35"X22" which says up to 60 pounds, but I would recommend this bed for small to medium breed dogs under 40. This was for my heeler, and it fits him perfect, but I don't think a lab or other similar sized dog would lay comfortably on the Large. I like that it has two layers protecting the eggshell padding and the zipper on the first layer seems to be good quality for regular washings. The bed came compressed, and I left it to air out for 12 hours. It came mostly back to shape within the first 30 minutes and then flattened out the rest of the way and got out the plastic smell the next few hours before I put the cover on. This would be a nice dog bed for a kennel as well since it is perfectly rectangular. Overall, I am happy with the purchase but would recommend the biggest size for any dog over 40. Then again, I have a cali king for just my 5'3" self so maybe I just think we all need huge beds. HAHA

I got this for my fifteen-year-old dog- he is still somewhat spritely, but starting to slow down and I want him to be super comfy in his beds, so I wanted him to have an orthopedic bed that was made to keep him more comfortable. When I opened this up, it was packaged really well. I appreciated the effort taken to use less cardboard in shipping. It did take a couple days to air out entirely. He was able to lay on it pretty quickly, but there was a bit of a fold and flattened area still for a day or so. The area of the bed is what I expected. My dog took to it very well and has been loving it- he spends a lot of his lay-down time on this bed. The outer cover is very soft and I've cleaned it by hand a few times as well from kids spilling things around it. It cleaned up really nicely, without any stiffness or residue left over. It's reasonable to assume that it's going to go through a wash cycle really well as well. It doesn't just absorb liquid right away- you have a little delay time- so I definitely appreciate that the inner bed isn't getting bogged down if there's a spill or anything. Overall I'm really happy with this dog bed. My dog is super happy with it as well.

Nothing to really write home about here-it's a rectangle piece of stiff foam the dog doesn't seem to particularly like, but the cat does. She sleeps dead center. It's ugly and stiff on it's own, but makes a kennel look a bit more attractive if you need a pad for one.
