  • Great lawnmower
Pattern Name: Lawn Mower Size: 14-Inch, 4-Blade
I love it. Gets the job done. Very satisfying to mow the lawn. It's also a good workout.

  • Easy to use and maintain
Pattern Name: Lawn Mower Size: 14-Inch, 4-Blade
This is perfect for a smaller yard or touch ups. It’s lightweight and easy to move around. The blades are sharp and easy to clean up. Doesn’t work well on very tall grass but it’s amazing for maintaining.

  • Decent mower, but two problems ...
Pattern Name: Lawn Mower Size: 14-Inch, 4-Blade
This is a good mower, I had one problem with this mower and one with reel mowers like this in general, but that at the end. First off, if you get this with a fairly lush, green lawn, you're probably not going to be able to mow it on your first try, even at the tallest setting. This mower will choke on loose grass and long grass. I had to use my 2-stoke gas Ryobi weed wacker to basically mow the entire lawn first, then rake up all the loose grass, and then the mower still couldn't handle it. So I weed wacked it again, got it even lower, raked up all the loose grass, then this mower could handle it, again, at the tallest setting. The whole thing took me about four hours of very difficult work. Now that the lawn is short, I plan to mow it every week with this mower, so that I can avoid that happening again. And unlike a rotary mower, you'll need to either hand trim or weed wack the edges if you are near stone, because that reel mower can't cut that kind of uneven grass well, or at all. If you're buying this mower because you want a cheap way to cut your grass, just invest in an electric or gas mower, you'll almost definitely pay for this in the long run. But if you want it because it's quiet easy to use on a well-prepared lawn, then it's good. Now, a minor problem ... the top tubes that they used are relatively thin wall, and one bent on me, first time out. Nothing major, I was able to bend it back, but this mower hates to be torqued around corners. If they had gone just a little bit thicker wall on the tube handles, then this would have been a better product. I get that they want the light weight, but most of the weight is the base, not the handles anyway. Next, a bigger problem ... if you're buying this thing because you want to help save the planet with a green mowing technique, then I have news for you, this 'aint it! The problem is that even on the highest setting, this cuts the grass very short. If you like that golf course look to your lawn, okay, but that too short lawn is going to lose water and moisture a LOT faster than a slightly taller lawn. So sure, you'll avoid burning gas, and you won't have to deal with an electric cord, but your lawn will need more water. If you live where there is a lot of water like Indiana or Ohio or NY State, etc., then no problem. But if you live in California, Colorado, Florida, Texas, Arizona, etc., where water is expensive, and scarce, then this reel lawn mower will probably cause more environmental cost in spent water than it will save in gasoline or electricity. The increasing reality is that electricity is being made cleaner and cleaner, but water is getting more and more threatened. If you want to really save money and help the environment, then save money on your watering bill too ... get yourself a little electric rotary mower, be careful not to run over the cord, set the height as high as you can, and let the lawn do what it wants to do, which is hold onto its water by shading the soil with longer blades of grass. I already bought this one, but I regret not just getting an electric with a grass catcher. One last thing that they could have done to make this a better mower is allow a higher cut height. I'm not sure how they could have done that with the back roller setting the height, but I can't imagine that it would have been a terribly difficult engineering problem. ... show more

  • Not bad if you’re in a pinch
Pattern Name: Lawn Mower Size: 14-Inch, 4-Blade
If you are just cutting grass it works like a charm as long as you don’t let your grass get real tall. But certain crab grass and stuff like that it just won’t cut or you have to go over so many times and at the right angle just to cut.

  • Long review, but worth it!
Pattern Name: Lawn Mower Size: 14-Inch, 4-Blade
A little background, I’m a 27 year old that has never mowed a lawn a day in my life. I found myself in a position where I had a decent size yard to start taking care of by myself and the old, smoky push mower was suddenly the most intimidating thing I’ve ever seen. I got the idea for a reel mower because I didn’t want to mess with gas and oil and the noise. It came in quickly and the post master was so tickled by it that she had to take a photo to send to her husband lol. It was super easy to put together and cut through the overgrowth in my yard like a breeze. It cuts evenly and is easy to push. It’s not hard to maneuver at all, I can do it with my skinny little arms. 10/10 I love it and I’m saving money on gas! ... show more

  • Thought I would waste $65, turned out to be the best investment ever.
Pattern Name: Lawn Mower Size: 14-Inch, 4-Blade
This is so many positive things : 1) Efficient 2) Practical 3) Quiet 4) Workout 5) Fun and only 1 negative thing : It finds it had to cut grass a foot long. I tried to go twice over those areas to get most of the grass cut, then clip with hands what was left. This is awesome if you mow every 2-3 weeks, it will maintain the grass amazingly and you don't even need a grass catcher. I had an electric mower with a 100ft cable going around. It used to take me 3 hours to mow my backyard and front-yard (imagine the hassle of moving the cable around and mowing, always looking out if you cut the wire) . I never tried a gas mower before because of 2 toddlers and a baby, could be dangerous. Also, those are heavy, smelly and a hassle to deal with. The manual reel one did it in 20 min. This little mower can be moved around with one hand, so practical. I could go faster . I literally was jogging and mowing and the same time just for the fun of it (tried it a couple of times), and it would still cut the grass amazingly. It makes very little noise, now I can mow anytime I can without worrying about waking up the neighbors. Best $65 I could have spent. Will get another one for wifey and we will have fun mowing together while having a workout session. ... show more

Easy to push, cuts ok, and zero carbon foot print. Left over clippings are a pain.
