  • Second Purchase - Useful!
Size: Pair
I'm using a pair of these as an ice auger rack on my ATV, and I bought a second set to use one as a support for my Humminbird 360 transducer pole. This would work as a support when in the stowed position for the Mega Live or Live Scope transducers also.

  • Universal fit, Ample Room For Implements, Inadequate mounting
Size: Pair
I bought these for carrying gardening implements, such as my Husqvarna string trimmer on my Arctic Cat 400. Because it is very long (and most of the things I'm likely to carry are long), I oriented them front-to-back by putting one mount on the front rack and one on the rear. My rack is 3/4" round tubing. The mounting is easy enough with the U-bolts, but unfortunately there's not enough contact area, and the plastic of the base is not rigid enough to really get it tight. When I encountered even the slightest bump, the Graspur would slip and the string trimmer would start to lean over to the side. I had to ride one-handed and hold onto it to keep the mount from falling over and dumping my string trimmer. The fact that these are offset is a blessing and a curse. The good part is that it gives me more room, so that I can leave these mounted and still have room for my spray tank on the rear rack. Also it gives me a little bit more leg room on the right. But the offset also gives it a greater mechanical advantage, increasing the twisting force on the U-bolt over bumps. The U-bolt could only be tightened a certain amount. Tightening it more just led to the ears on the bottom of the Graspur rack bending down. The plastic is slippery, so it's no help it keeping it from rotating on the rack. Not to mention that, as it rotates, the u-bolt is destroying the paint on your rack (not a concern for me, as the paint on my 20-year-old Arctic Cat racks is already history). As is, the u-bolt did not work for me. It might have better success on larger diameter tubes, or square tubes, but from what I've seen, 3/4" round tubing is very common on ATV racks. These might be adequate for people carrying something lighter, like fishing poles, bows or rifles. But I'm just as likely to be carrying a 20 pound breaker bar or post hole digger. Graspur has made elongated holes where the U-bolt goes through, to allow for swiveling the rack on the tube. I have no use for this feature, and I can only imagine it would be useful where racks don't have tubing at 90º to the axis of the vehicle. Because they wanted this pivoting ability, they had to make the bottom of the Graspur flat (also to accommodate square tubing), which doesn't help grip the tube. In making it as universal as possible, they sacrificed much of its holding ability. What it needed to make it really useful was a better clamping system, with more support for the ears, and more contact area on the tubing of the rack. That would allow the mount to live up to the strength of the upper part. I cut some chunks of 1"x2.5"x1.25" 6061 aluminum, and I machined a set of proper holders for it, fitted to my particular rack. These are now rock-solid, and cannot be moved. Also, the flat mounting provides support for the plastic ears on the base of the Graspur, keeping them from bending down as the bolts are tightened. Obviously this is only a solution for people who have a machine shop. If I'd hired someone to machine these pieces, they would have been far more expensive than the Graspur itself. I think that anybody who has a 3D printer could produce something very similar, custom-sized to their rack, and it would be a vast improvement on the holding ability of the U-bolt, even in plastic. Some extra support would also keep the ears of the Graspur from bending down as the bolts are tightened. The rubber bands and the little nubs on the inside do a pretty good job of holding, but I can't help but think they're not going to survive very long in the Texas sun, so when I'm not using them, I take them off and store them in the Cat's trunk. I've bought some extras, as I expect them to get broken and/or lost out in the fields (there are replacements available on Amazon, both from Graspur and 3rd-party vendors). ... show more

  • ice auger mount on atv
Size: Pair
I just installed these with some longer u bolts I had on hand, they work great! I did not mount them to the rack. If I had, the included u bolts would have worked. I have a basket on the front and rear of my kawasaki prairie 360 4x4.

  • Premature Failure
Size: Pair
I just went out to put my Gamo air rifle on my e-bike to do some squirrel hunting. Imagine my surprise when one of the bands was broken. Purchased Oct. 2024 and seven months later it's already broken. Bike is garage kept so Florida UV had nothing to do with the premature failure. Guess I'll have to get replacements, from someone else of course. ... show more

I got these because they are offset. It works perfectly to fit on the baby stroller that I found. I have to get another set now that I know it works so I can carry my father in laws shotgun also.

  • Needs to be bolstered a bit
Size: Pair
These work very well if you make an additional bracket otherwise they will slip around the bar all you need to do to make an additional bracket to get a small flat piece of steel and drill two holes through it to back up the plastic
