Description

The Grace Select Self-Adhering Ice and Water Shield is a self-adhered roofing underlayment that is thin and light weight, making it easier to apply. It offers premium protection against severe climatic conditions such as wind, rain, and the buildup of ice dams and is recommended to be used under most roofing materials and in a range of slopes, including the very lowest and highest slope designs. The unique, advanced rubberized asphalt formulation allows the membrane to meet industry standards for fastener sealability equivalent to products that are often significantly thicker and heavier. Grace Select underlayment features a quick-fold less release paper that will not crack or dry out and is slip-resistant. This underlayment also has a rubberized asphalt layer that seals around roofing nails, allowing for a tight seal and added protection from environmental changes.

Great Value for DIYers
This product is a perfect, low cost, substitute for the higher end "Ice and Water Shield" most of us know. It's not as thick or durable; however, it's hits the perfect balance for Do It Yourselfers that might not need the higher quality.

Good seal; good waxy paper backing that makes application reasonably easy
Others in this category sometimes use a plastic backing to protect the adhesive; that can become a mess. The heavy wax paper on Grace Select makes separating and applying reasonably easy, especially with two guys working it. Not one to give 5 stars very often, but this, I think, deserves it.

Looses its stickiness
For over $130 I would expect this stuff to retain its adhesiveness for more than four months. I bought this roll and have been using it all summer on various projects. I just went to use more and it’s completely lost its adhesive backing. So disappointed in this product. Now I’m wondering if the stuff I used on my house is still sticky. ... show more

Works amazing
Works to waterproof my flooring as they build my addition, kept the floor insulation dry through heavy rain and snow and they're finally building the walls after using it for a month to keep the wood dry on the floor. Will buy more for my roof here soon, very sticky

Good stuff if you are not applying it alone
When the weather was cool, it had trouble adhering. When the weather was warm, it became super sticky and difficult to manage alone. On the one hot day I had, it was impossible to keep from sticking to itself no matter how careful I was. Even the backing became harder to peel off! Had to wait until it cooled down. There is no center seam to help make application easier, just 40"-wide backing that really likes to rip as you peel & apply as you roll. This gets very awkward when you lay it down and find the backing had torn somewhere and stayed on the film; I wasted several yards because of this. I recommend two people apply this stuff. Once its down though, it's great stuff. ... show more
