    • Couldn't get it out of China. Hacker level apparatus.
I had to buy one of these because my car was getting stolen every night and they were good to the car at first but then I got in and then they abused it left the seat back 6'' from how far I could reach and my seat was sitting so far back I couldn't even reach the steering wheel and the car was shaking while it was idling. They had beat the crap out of it while I was asleep and who knows what else they were doing all night long. To this day now that I have The Club on the wheel they still sit in my car and waste my gas sitting in my car every night with the engine on. So I thought this would work correctly but obviously I needed to upgrade my purchase to something that had a better customer interface. I am tech savvy but after following all the directions and putting in a live phone chip as well as a memory card which didn't have instructions on how to place them in the box. I fanangled until it turned on and started to work. I couldn't get it out of China and there was no way I was wasting my time trying to get this to work after a half hour fiddling around with it. If it won't work in that time it isn't going to work at all. I even looked at other apparatuses to see if their directions would help, nope.     • I instructions. Not Good!
1) the instructions are difficult to understand. Most of it doesn’t even make sense. 2) the magnet doesn’t work. 3) I thought this didn’t need a phone plan. But apparently the GPS tracker will not power up without a SIM card. And all this before I could even get it started working. Is there an app I need to download? Well I wouldn’t know because the instructions doesn’t say so. Confused! ... show more

    • Metal carport blocks signal
I don't know if this works yet. It first showed the travel trailer located at my house, which is good because metal blocks the signal, but when I moved it to a metal storage carport-type space, it still shows as at my house. I will be taking it for new tires soon and then to a vintage rally in March, so I'll see how it does then. It's an aluminum trailer, so I'm a little worried. Btw, I didn't install it yet, it's inside an upper wood cabinet. I may end up putting it on the roof so it communicates with the satellite (that's customer service explanation for it not working, that the metal carport is blocking signal. Customer service is very nice and I hope this works because I love 5-year battery feature). If this works when I travel, I'd give it 5 stars ... show more

Instructions are in Chinese. The English portion has a severe syntaxis issue. Not even one sentence makes sense. I was able to ID the word LED and on/off switch but non is available. Placed the SIM card but nothing happened. Look someplace else. This item is non functional.

It’s not exactly like the photo it’s round however it’s pretty sturdy and it is functioning right now the battery was supposed to last for five years but right now it’s at 80%

    • located item quickly on startup. highly recommend!!
I Located unit inside trailer facing the vent. Had to build a bracket for it. Unit located easily the first time during set up. Will definately update this review if it fails to locate once every 25 hours. I Waited 6 months before installing & activating unit. I Downloaded app that is associated with unit...calamp. It has a geofence option (with email/text notification) on the website but I CAN'T apply it to this unit. ☹ I Can "enable/disable starter" on app & website.... I assume that is a "real time" tracking function but it doesn't work (communicate with unit) while the unit is in sleep mode. Unit comes with a phone number & email address to activate real time tracking if device/trailer is stolen. I don't know if its a 24-hour number... Small magnet needs to be removed to activate this unit (No problem). Magnet rusts if left on unit (to keep it turned off). Awesome customer service. Calls are answered & routed quickly. Problems are solved immediately. ... show more

This is a huge life saver. I have recommended this to my friends for their company equipment. I will be buying several more. The best part is the company that sells it, they will contact you to make sure your getting the correct device for your needs and budget. Only down side is the item is not as pictured. The one I got was a little bulkier and did not have screw mounting holes but one of those super strength magnets. The next one I'll ask for mounting screws only. And the gos is very accurate, shows in front or behind my house with gps ping. ... show more

Overall it works but I only get a location once every 3-4 days even when it doesn't move for weeks at a time. It is good enough for my purposes.
