These oven mitts are good looking but most of all, they offer good protection from oven heat and other hot items. They would be about perfect if the silicone grip was extended over the top of the finger section. This would prevent food from getting on the material and help with clean up. I usually use the style of oven mitt with a thumb so this style takes some getting used when grasping items. Otherwise, the silicone provides excellent gripping power. The mitts are not overly huge so that helps - they are just the right size with room for my hands. My husband also likes these - says they are comfortable and easy to use - in fact, the best he's used. He does most of the cooking so he gives a big mitts up! ... show more

I cook all of the time and these gloves protect my hands and arms perfectly. They are great for my small, female hands though my husband is fine using them too. Great product and comes packaged beautifully!

    • No more burns
After burning myself many times with other oven mitts (one pair of all silicone mitts actually tore in my hand while I was hold a cast iron pot), I decided to buy a new pair. I bake a lot of bread and my hands are constantly reaching in and out of the oven. The govicci mitts are very well padded, cover my forearms, and have silicone protection for your fingertips. My last silicon mitts cracked and tore at the thumb. Because these mitts have a separate piece for the thumb, there no risk of leaving your lower thumb in danger of burning, like mine did. Plus, the puppet shape allows me to grip onto pots, sheet pans, and handles. I’ve been using these mitts for about 5 months and they are holding up great. ... show more

I have had Built ovenmits for years that I found at home goods and unfortunately they wore out. Finding them is difficult so I took a chance on these and couldn’t be more pleased.

These poor mitts have taken a beating in the short time I've had them and they've not failed me yet! From having chili spilled on them, to being nearly drowned in a full sink, to grabbing oil-saturated baking sheets, these guys are still going strong. UPDATE 3 years later (07/08/23): The silicone rubber grippers work as well now as they did 3 yrs ago. These gloves are well made and very durable. Well worth the extra $$$ because they last much longer and keep the heat off of your hands. --- I did think they would be a tiny bit thicker, but despite that, they work good thus far. I'm hoping the material that comes in contact with the hot pans actually lasts in these gloves. They do seem to be made of a much better silicone rubber contact surface than my old pair with some cheap rubber surface. Perhaps I'll report back at a later date of longevity. ... show more

    • Comfortable, easy to use the right size for my hands
They are thick enough to provide plenty of protection without being so bulky that I can't get a good grip on the pan or trays. They cover my wrists and lower arm enough but don't get in the way. And I love the color!!
