Like - the possibilities and combinations these lights allow. Like - the waterproof rating. Like - the many combinations and custom colors that can be set up. See our setup for July 4th... Dislike - the lights must be controlled through Bluetooth app (not like my other Phillips light strips that can be controlled through the app or via voice command). Dislike - the inability to extend or shorten the light strips. While these are good in certain applications, I ended up using café lights instead for our back porch. These lights are amazing. Cannot say enough. Easy app control, tons of special features and if 60yr old me can figure it out, you can too! We live on a fairly busy street and i have not seen these lights used this way. Tons of cars slow down or stop to watch the light show. Compliments galore!

Well made and works seamlessly with app if have other Govee products. Had lose one star in that would be nice if worked on WiFi like other Govee products. This one Bluetooth only so must be close to program.

    • Nice lights - but!
Really impressed with the lights so far (one week). I picked Govee because I have other products that use the same app. Connecting to the app was painless and it controls the lights well offering many different light patterns to choose from. The sync to music works well, too. Installation was relatively easy. I hung my lights between the two supporting beams of a pergola. I did not use the tape backing to attach the light string (based on other reviews). The 15 plastic hangers worked but there weren't enough. The screws provided for the hangers were terrible for use in wood. They easily strip and I really think they are too long. I used shorter screws which worked well. Biggest negative to me is the power pack. The instructions state in the Safety Instructions section "Keep the adapter and the socket away from water during installation and usage." Why in the world would you use an ordinary adapter presumably for indoor use in a product rated for outdoor use? Nothing a trip to your local hardware store's electrical section can solve. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. We found this product as an alternative to professional jellyfish permanent lighting for a fraction of the cost. If you’re willing to do the installation, which isn’t too difficult depending on your roofline, it’s well worth the investment. I suggest purchasing better quality screws. The screws it comes with strip really easily. Plan out the spacing of your clips and don’t rely solely on the adhesive strip. It would be nice if there were at least 2 more clips in the pack so you need to really plan out your spacing. Plan out your electrical so all the strips are going the same direction. The app has many pre programmed light pattern options in addition to creating your own. We get many compliments. We literally have people stop at our house to ask where we got our lights. My wife continually makes me add more. I’ve had the lights mounted for 1 year now and I haven’t had any problems. I installed the lights all by myself, first time ever doing something like this and it took me about 15-20 hours for everything.
