The media could not be loaded. We found this product as an alternative to professional jellyfish permanent lighting for a fraction of the cost. If you’re willing to do the installation, which isn’t too difficult depending on your roofline, it’s well worth the investment. I suggest purchasing better quality screws. The screws it comes with strip really easily. Plan out the spacing of your clips and don’t rely solely on the adhesive strip. It would be nice if there were at least 2 more clips in the pack so you need to really plan out your spacing. Plan out your electrical so all the strips are going the same direction. The app has many pre programmed light pattern options in addition to creating your own. We get many compliments. We literally have people stop at our house to ask where we got our lights. My wife continually makes me add more. I’ve had the lights mounted for 1 year now and I haven’t had any problems. I installed the lights all by myself, first time ever doing something like this and it took me about 15-20 hours for everything. The media could not be loaded. The light have been up a year now and they are still sticking in place. I did mess up and not weather proof the power supply and it stoped working. But after owning them for 11 months I contacted Govee to try and see what i needed to order to replace the power supplies. Their Rep Kathy hooked me up with 2 brand new sets of lights and new power supplies. And the original pair are running like new again and now i have 2 backup strands of lights.     • Great lights, except no wifi
These lights are fantastic overall and I'd buy them again. There is one downside that I wish I knew about before purchasing. Pros: -The lights are durable and able to withstand the elements. Simple, but important quality. -The app is great overall. You can adjust just about any setting you can think of from the app; brightness, light schemes, patterns, and flashing. The app comes with pre defined color schemes for events, holidays, moods, etc. -You can cut these lights down to size despite the answers that say 'No' in the Q&A section. I used these on my balcony railing which is about 20ft long. Simply find a copper section along the light string and cut the white section after it and they will still work. Make sure to wrap the cut end with electrical tape or a similar item as the circuitry will be directly exposed to the elements. -The 3m tape attached to the lights is durable. Cons: -The lights connect via Bluetooth to the app and NOT wifi. This is a big downside, because you must be within Bluetooth range to connect to the lights in order to change any setting. Also, no Alexa. I'm thinking of plugging the light to a smart Alexa compatible plug, but not sure if it'll work the way I hope. -This comes with a remote control that has a lot of settings, but obviously cannot replace the app. Not sure if it's a con, but I'm putting it here as I imagine I'll never use it. ... show more

This is my third set of these lights. I have them all synced. They are easy to install, have great light out put and the app is super easy to use

    • Quality is terrible. All my lights stopped working after a year. Warranty passed. DO NOT BUY!
Garbage! Had these for a over a year (used them for two xmas) and they all of a sudden stopped working. I thought I just had to hard reset them and reconnect but every timed I tried, it would freeze after 10 secs. I then contact GoVee and after sending some videos on what happen, they said they need to be replaced due to weathering or electrical issues. And no warranty as it passed a year! And it wasn't just one light, it was a total of three lights (Two outside lights and a indoor light curtain) that stopped working! My cheap xmas lights at Walmart lasted longer. Not worth the money for just about a year of usage. Govee tried to offer a discount if I buy it again but thats not satisfactory as I have to spend more money. Stay clear away from Govee lights as their quality is shotty. ... show more

Update (2024): My original review was in 2021. They have survived torrential Seattle rain storms, weeks of sub 20° weather (down to 13°), snow/ice storms and 100+degree summer days and daily irrigation in summer. They sit face-up at the base of the wall and are exposed to the elements 24/7. The power supply and “brain” resides in a “SockIt” box (those are good too). The lights lose timer settings once in a while, and I have to turn them on and off again, but sometimes I just don’t get around to it and they’ve stayed on for months on end and still going! Original review (2021) These lights are part of a larger professional landscape lighting installation. They're placed at the base of the wall, behind the plants. We used a landscape edger to hide the actual string of lights, so it just washes up nicely onto the wall and plants. The power supply is in a waterproof box, but the sprinkler system waters over the top of the LED section every day and they have held up beautifully. The Bluetooth app and brightness are great. We have left the adhesive strip sealed. ... show more
