My Father’s rifle collection was oddly hidden in the back of closets and never put on display. The rifle mount provided a convenient answer to how to best display part of his gun collection. Very easy to build and hang. I strongly recommend stud mounting.

For the pros, this rack is fairly inexpensive and holds 5 rifles or shotguns extremely well. The rack doesn’t stick too far out, which I like very well. There is a rubber strip that is placed along the slots to keep your guns from getting scratched. The rubber strips are attached with adhesive like a sticker, so not for sure how long it will last. It is all one piece of rubber that runs the length, so If it starts to come undone, each slot on that side will eventually come undone. The pre drilled holes to mount the rack to the wall line up perfectly with the studs in the wall. I recommend if you plan on using all five slots, to mount this into the studs instead of using the drywall anchors (which it does come with). All holes were pre drilled and lined up perfectly. The cons: one of the biggest cons I noticed right away is that one of the side pieces was a darker stain than the rest of the boards. It’s going in a closet, so I didn’t care too much. It is extremely noticeable in the light, so you might have that to deal with. The second biggest con is that the supplied wood screws are JUNK. When I was attaching the sides to the wall mounts, the screws kept breaking at the head. I thought I would widen the pre-drilled holes a bit. After doing that, the screws were still breaking after only making it 2/3 of the way in. See the pictures. I was already down 3 screws, so I went and purchased some woods screws at the local hardware store that were the same size, and they worked perfectly using the same drill with the same torque setting. Other notes of interest: this is not a very good rack for tactical guns that have grips, magazines or other attachments you don’t want to remove every time you store it. The grips and magazines keep rubbing up against the wall since the rack doesn’t stick out far from the wall…the magazines and scopes get in the way of the other guns as well. I would have gave it 4 1/2 stars if I didn’t have to go purchase real screws and all the pieces were stained the same. ... show more
