Features

  • PURPOSE BUILT FOR RUCKING: The Rucker revolutionized the fitness category of rucking (carrying weight on your back). These bags are purpose built for rucking with an elevated pocket designed for Ruck Plates, reinforced construction, extra padded straps and multiple handles to make it a versatile training tool. The Rucker helps you to get stronger one rep and one mile at a time. Compatible with our hip belt (sold separately).
  • SUPER STRAPS: Thin straps cutting into your neck is the last thing you want while carrying weight. The Rucker straps are wide, reinforced, and extra padded to create the smoothest possible rucking experience. To build the straps, two premium high-density polyethylene foams are heat laminated together to form a permanent bond. The interior foam provides superior cushioning against your shoulder, and the exterior foam provides outstanding durability and impact resistance.
  • HIGH AND STABLE WEIGHT - Keeping the Ruck Plates high on your back, stable, and evenly distributed puts you in the best position to gain strength while rucking. The elevated Ruck Plate pockets keep the weights from bouncing around the bottom of your bag, and lets you scale up to 75LBs of Ruck Plates (we recommend starting 20LB).
  • BACK SUPPORT: Raised padding along the bottom of the Rucker provides ergonomic lumbar support that protects your spine and helps to brace your core. The back panels 210D Cordura fabric is smooth and moves with you instead of rubbing against your clothes. Closed-cell foam repels moisture to prevent sweat and rain from damaging your ruck. A built-in frame sheet adds structural integrity to your rucksack, and allows you to carry more weight comfortably.
  • VERSATILE 20L CAPACITY: Compact yet spacious enough to carry essential gear, making it ideal for both fitness and everyday use.

Description

The elevated plate pocket keeps the weight high and secure on your back, which is the preferred method for Rucking. This will help prevent any injuries or friction on your back. Both 20L and 25L Rucker feature 2 elevated plate pockets, one that holds 20LB or 30LB (Standard) Ruck Plates and one that holds a 45LB Plate, 20LB (Long), or 30LB (Long). This means your rucker can hold up to 75 lbs of weight. The 15L Rucker has one plate pocket that fits a 10LB, 20LB, or 30 LB Ruck plate. Say goodbye to friction burn. 210D HT (High Tenacity) CORDURA on the back panel and underside of the shoulder straps does NOT cause friction burn on your skin and it plays well with less durable fabrics like merino wool. An additional 10mm of EVA foam padding along the bottom section of the back panel supports the natural curve of your back. It’s raised up, protects you from friction from seams on pants, belts or Tough Leggings or anything back there. And if it’s exposed to your skin, that’s no problem either. Shoulder straps and top handle are extra padded to carry heavier loads more comfortably. Our dual density foam will not collapse under the pressure. Clip your hydration bladder into the interior d-ring with a carabiner and feed the hose through the exit port under the top handle of the ruck. Complete with side molle to integrate perfectly with the padded hip belt. The hip belt allows you to distribute heavy loads to your hips over long periods of time (think the GORUCK Challenge or Star Course) plus keeps the ruck stable during Ruck PT. Rucking is the action of walking with weight on your back. Walking with a weighted rucksack (aka backpack) is a low impact exercise based on military training workouts. A simple design, bombproof construction, and the best materials money can buy are trademarks of our brand. The materials we choose thrive in any environment - YKK Zippers (with silent zipper pulls) perform despite Middle East sandstorms, and 1000 denier CORDURA is the preferred material for Special Forces rucks due to its strength to weight ratio and durability. No other company systematically abuses their own gear like we do via GORUCK Events. At over 10,000 events since 2010, GORUCK rucksacks have consistently proven to be the toughest and most comfortable in the world. With GORUCK Events happening all over the world and a high-touch promise like SCARS, we have nowhere to hide, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. The promise we make to you is the same that we make to our buddies headed to war: GORUCK gear is built to Special Forces life or death quality standards, and if you break it, we fix it. While I was in Special Forces and Emily was in the CIA, we started GORUCK out of her house in war-torn West Africa. The goal was pretty simple: build a rucksack with life-or-death quality standards that would thrive in Baghdad and NYC. The GORUCK Challenge was born in 2010. 1,000 Events/year, 175,000+ participants and 200+ Special Forces Cadre later, the gear is battle tested. Service is a way of life and that’s our northern star and we’re grateful to the community for the support. We would not exist without you. — Jason & Emily McCarthy Proud to donate 1% of our annual top line revenue to various non-profit partners who support those who serve All GORUCK built gear, apparel, and footwear - everything we manufacture - comes with our SCARS Lifetime Promise

  • This is an amazing bag that’s built to last a long time
Color: Black With Black Embroidery Size: 20L
I I'm 6'2" and bought the Rucker 4.0 20L bag off of Amazon back in early January this year. It fits me perfectly and is very comfortable for daily use. I've added a 3-liter water bladder, optional padded hip belt which I wear very loose and a clip to keep the water hose line secure to the front of the bag where I can get to it. My bag will fit two 15 pound plates stacked in the short pocket plus one 45 pound long plate in the long pocket all at the same time that you can buy from Amazon for cheap (search "Yes4All" for their various plate offerings which do indeed fit this bag). Having only these three plates will, based on combination, let you choose from 15 pounds all the way up to 75 pounds in 15 pound increments (15, 30, 45, 60 and 75 pounds). If you need more weight than 75 pounds then you can also add some additional filled sand bags that they also sell on their website to get you to around 100 pounds max if you so chose. Right now I'm at 45-60 pounds (also including the bag weight and a filled water bladder that I've added) as my ideal for daily rucking and conditioning (start with 15pounds as your initial weight to get a feel for the bag and your conditioning for a week of use before increasing). The bag and straps themselves are built like a tank and will easily take lots of abuse and stay comfortable without rubbing or tearing under load. Just be sure to either remove the weight each time for storage, or ensure that you put the bag with weights flat on the floor (strap-side down!). *Don't* stand up the bag when loaded with weights and then lean the bag up against a wall for a long time else you will deform the inner plastic lumbar support that sits along the back of the bag. Always lay it flat on the ground with straps-side down (or remove the weights and store separately). It's a great and well thought-out system, and I feel I've gotten my money's worth many times over based on actual fitness results and the continued motivation to keep using this quality gear on a daily basis to get and stay outside longer and push harder. The weight is mounted high and tight on your back which is ideal for walking/hiking, and the bag moves with you without swinging or wobbling. It just feels, moves and looks great when in use, and you feel amazingly "bouncy" for the rest of the day after you take it off because your legs aren't supporting nearly as much weight! 🙂 Also check out Gorucks's amazing, supportive (and surprisingly affordable) footwear which are the best I've seen anywhere for these and similar activities where your feet take a lot of abuse. I have a pair of their MACV-2 Mid-tops and they're really great! They support all your arches and raise the heel a bit for optimized and comfortable load distribution over your entire foot. ... show more

  • Worth the price and makes all the difference
Color: Black With Black Embroidery Size: 20L
I hesitated to buy this pack because of the price, but after trying to carry weight in cheap backpack I already owned and suffering shoulder pain and weight at the small of my back, I decided to buy once, cry once. And I couldn't be happier! This thing is top quality and purpose built for carrying weight the way it should be carried. I can't emphasize enough how much of a difference it makes. I can carry more weight more easily, the straps don't dig into my shoulders, the weight rides high up on my back as it should, it fits my body perfectly, and encourages an upright (not hunched) posture as I walk. The padded material on the back is also great as it doesn't absorb sweat like all my other backpacks do. It's also great for carrying a water bottle, towel, etc. inside the pack. I absolutely love it and would highly recommend it. It makes me want to get out there and put the work in each day. Just bite the bullet and buy it! It'll last forever and lets you focus on your workout, not your pack. ... show more

  • Enjoying this more than I expected even if it looks a little douchey
Color: Black With Black Embroidery Size: 20L
I can't figure out why a backpack is better or worse than a weighted vest. But I've now done three shortish (2 mile) hikes with my GORUCK and its 20-lb plate and I can attest that my legs and backs feel a lot stronger already. Even if I'm huffing and puffing a bit during the hikes. This is like a batter warming up with a weighted donut on his bat. The point is not the exercise itself. It's that you take the backpack off and suddenly you feel weightless. Straps are comfortable and fit is just right. ... show more

  • Durable and tough
Color: Black With Black Embroidery Size: 20L
Yes it’s stupid expensive, but it is one heck of a tough sack. It keeps the weight up high and tight and is made with very tough fabric and stitching. I don’t have to worry about it falling apart.

  • A Most Impressive Non-Wrinkled Sack
Bag is well made, and exceeded my expectations as far as quality is concerned. Storage capacity is average, but this bag isn't meant to be a travel bag. It's a plate carrier that can function as an EDC bag or to carry incidentals while rucking. The bag fit is excellent, and again. The attention to detail and durability of straps, handles, etc. is impressive. If you've ever used a lesser bag to ruck with and do the workouts, you'll know what I mean. This isn't a twenty dollar Wal-Mart bag. I have several different types of backpacks and I must say, the straps are unmatched in comfort and initial quality. They are easy to adjust on the fly, and the comfort that is imparted by proper straps makes me look forward to using it. As far as functionality goes, some folks would say, "It's a bag." This is more than a bag. There are handles attached to make it a self contained gym. There's room to carry water etc. There are accessories to help improve the functionality of the bag as well check the GoRuck Amazon shop. I'll be purchasing the hydration system soon. ... show more

  • Perfect for ruck training
Color: Black With Black Embroidery Size: 20L
The GORUCK Rucker 4.0 is every bit as tough and well-built as people say. The materials feel bombproof, the padding and straps are comfortable even on longer rucks, and the layout inside is simple but really functional. It’s definitely designed for real training, not just looking good. Unfortunately, my first Rucker 4.0 was stolen off my porch before I could even use it. Thankfully, it was replaced right away, and the second one arrived without any issues. Once I finally got it in hand, the quality lived up to the hype. The product itself is outstanding—durable, comfortable, and perfect for ruck training. Highly recommended for anyone serious about rucking or looking for a backpack that can take real abuse. ... show more

  • Worth it if you are serious about Rucking.
Color: Black With Black Embroidery Size: 20L
Yes, the initial cost is high, but this pack will last for years. I started with a regular hiking backpack, wrapping weights in towels, and used that for about six months to make sure I’d stick with rucking. When I finally got a Goruck pack, the difference was night and day — it carries the weight higher on your back, which feels much better during longer walks. The pack is extremely solid, and the weights stay completely secure (I started with one Goruck plate and plan to add another later — these aren’t something I figure you will buy more than once or twice). I’m 6'0", and the 20L size is perfect for a 45 lb plate plus an additional 20 lb plate in the future. ... show more

  • Sturdy high quality pack.
Color: Black With Black Embroidery Size: 20L
Once its worn a bit its perfect. Keeps the weight in place firmly. Easy to add anything I need to it and seems sturdy enough as there isn't so much as a fray after a few months of near daily use. Up to 40 pounds so far and foresee no problems adding more so figured I'd go ahead and add my two cents. Once I made the decision to ruck regularly the decision to get a longlasting quality pack was easy and no regret so far. ... show more
