This mat is high quality and plenty comfortable for yoga, HIIT, and other floor exercises. It doesn't shift over hardwood. We have our workout bench on it during weight training and it has held up perfectly so far. The extra width and length make workouts more comfortable. I wish I had bought a bigger size! The one knock is similar to what others have written. Even with mild sweating, I do start to feel like I start to slip more than I should. I bought this large mat after reading the reviews. Great purchase! I exercise/ work out in my garage and put down on concrete floor. This mat is large enough for one person to lay down, stretch, perform jumping exercises, side to side lunges. Mat can tolerate weights, heat, sweat. Rolls up easily and comes with two bands & storage bag to keep it in good shape and clean. Washes/ wipes easily. Would say that if you sweat a lot, have a towel near by, your hands will get slippery on mat. The thickness offers very decent padding for knees, feet, elbows, and back of head. No words for how much I love, love, love my matt! I literally use it daily! I searched and searched for a mobility matt to fit my ultra tall 6'3" frame and I have found it <3 I was hesitant to spend this amount of money on a mat, but I am so overjoyed with it and pleased each and every time I use it. I take it with me in my car too! I just fold the seat down and place it in the back and it works! The only reason I took off a star is because I have used it sooo much that the straps that hold it together actually snapped and I had to sew them back together by hand. I was disappointed by this because this should not be the case when the mat itself is such high quality and the price I payed for it was an investment in my mobility as a weightlifting athlete. Other than this, I have no reservations about paying the high price I did. More than fits its intended use. Never do I slip or slide and it is plenty big enough for my amazon length. True love after using it for about 6 months now and treating it with utmost care (never high impact, although I am sure you could) and cleaning it regularly. Such joy this mat is. I am just sorry to have discovered it so late! LOL Update: nearly 2 years later I still love my mat. However, the straps that hold it together have fallen apart. Gorilla needs to solve this problem. For now I have resulted to using small bungee cords to hold it together. I still take it with me nearly everywhere so it gets daily use. I have had this large mat for about a week now and I wanted to test it before I wrote anything. This was actually my second order. USP lost the first one after it was out for delivery. Who knows what happened to it. So after I contacted the seller and Amazon I got a refund for that one and quickly placed a second order for this one. Sadly the 1st one was for $119.95 and when I came back to this one it had already gone up to $138.91 (not sure why). It was still the cheapest I could find on this size. Smaller ones 6'x5' were $146 and up. This one was larger, just what I needed and since the seller indicated he would refund, I just thought "why not?" the loss of the original order is UPS fault, not the seller. I have used it for about a week for PiYo, my apartment has carpet (which I hate) and the regular yoga mat simply did not help because it doesn't cover enough space, so I was slipping around. I had previously bought the ones that interlock but I destroyed those (really I did, I somehow kept landing exactly at the interlocking part and it just broke. So I needed something that was large enough for a plank and a good stretch of the legs without having to move around to keep my feet inside the yoga mat to not slip. THIS IS PERFECT! I put it 'circles down' (you'll see when you get it) and smooth side up. It does not slip around in my carpet, and it is not slippery to my bare feet! I do clean it after each workout. Now I did slip around the very 1st time I exercised on it and worked up a good sweat. But it hasn't happened again. I'm actually able to do my workouts better because I don't have to use strength to not slip around in my carpet or to adjust my position halfway so my feet are always inside the yoga mat. There is a slight rubber smell when you first open it, but it has since gone away and it's been only a week. Plus, like I said, I clean it after each workout. The product is just how it was described, and it definitely exceeded my expectations! It’s a premium quality large exercise mat that even came with a towel and two belts to keep the mat rolled up. It’s thick and sturdy and was big enough for about 3-4 people to fit on it (yes, me and all 3 of my teenage siblings did jumping jacks on the mat all at the same time 😂). However, If you have a small space, I would recommend the 7 by 4, because the 7 by 5 I bought would be way too big if I had a small room. The only cons I had with this mat was the smell it had, and the condition that it arrived in. The box was extremely banged up and dirty, but thankfully the seller did a good job with protecting the mat by wrapping it in plastic and a big drawstring bag. Upon removing the plastic from the mat, however it did have a really strong fishy smell, but it goes away in 24 hours if you leave it out a little bit to let it “air out”. But don’t let those things deter you from purchasing, because everything I experienced with the mat upon arrival, doesn’t mean that you’ll have the same experience. Buy this mat! This product is great if you are worried about weights marking your floors BUT this mat is terrible for yoga. The second you start to sweat you slip all over the place. I had to use my old yoga mat over it to stay in one place.
