This dish slows my speedy dog down enough. It could slow her down more, but I would say it's in the middle range of effectiveness. It does slide around some. I've worked around that by placing it against a wall. I returned the last one that did nothing to slow her down, but I'm keeping this one.

I ordered two of these for my kitties and they are nice feeders. My only issue is that they slide across the floor to easy. My cat will take his nose or paw and scoot it across the floor. If it had better grip on the bottom, I would have rated higher.
