My cat loved this the moment it came out of the box. It was easy to put together (took less than 5 minutes) and he didn't even require a spritz of catnip to take to this scratching post. In all fairness, he's not particularly picky about his posts, but this one has very quickly become his favorite. Unfortunately, within a couple of weeks, the wear is already showing. The jute wrap and ball toys are both holding up pretty well to his rough play, but the carpet/fabric is pulling on the lowest section of the post. Given the size of this unit and the price, I don't think that it's the end of the world. He's going to continue to love it until it's too damaged to repair. I have used multiple Gorilla Grip brand products now and none of them have let me down yet, so I have high hopes that with a few well-placed staples and some replacement carpet, this will continue to hold up for a long time. If I run into future issues I'll update my review.

This car scratching post is great! It is nicely made and looks great. Most importantly, my cats like it too! There are three surfaces - a soft carpet-like material, and two different rope surfaces (sidelined & jute). There is an elastic rope the a ball that dangles from the top, and also a spring with a pompom on top. The base is made of two wooden panels that come folded for shipping, and you just need to unfold it to form the base when assembling it. It has 4 rubber feet on the bottom. This set is super easy to put together (just screwing the base and pole, and then twisting the other two pole sections to it, and the top section. That’s it. It also comes with an Allen wrench, and 4 extra rubber “feet”. My only slight complaint, is that when my cats lean on it to scratch toward the top of the pole, it can tip slightly (not enough to fall over), especially if they’re not standing on the base. Although admittedly, this pole it a bit too short for them. It would probably be perfect for a smaller cat or kitten. Overall, I’m very happy with this scratching post. For the price ($14.99 at the time of review), this is a great deal! If you have cats, you know how expensive cat toys and products can be!! I would highly recommend this Gorilla Grip Heavy Duty Cat Scratching Post!

So, I do like the way this scratching post is made. It was quick and easy to assemble with all hardware needed, included. It's rather small though. The problem I'm having, so far, is my kit has pretty much just totally ignored it. She does have a main corrugated cardboard post she really loves but for whatever reason, doesn't touch the new one. First time I've encountered this problem. Maybe when the first one is gone she'll move on to the new one. I like this post, it's not a bad value. It IS small however and I would've preferred the bigger one...and maybe my little lady would've preferred the same.

This is a well made and functional cat scratching post that our cat seems very much to enjoy. For any cat owner, the constant struggle of providing your cat with enough alternatives to scratch is always a challenge, and this post offers yet another choice besides the furniture that our cat goes to regularly. The toys offer an additional incentive to explore and eventually have a scratch, which I think helps encourage the behavior. Assembly is very easy and the stand is very secure, never once tipping over while being used. Overall, a great value at the price point.

I had high hopes for it, and my cat seemed to enjoy the fact that it was taller than the rest. She went at it like she was Sia swinging from the chandelier. However, the base is too thin and the pole snapped right out of it within a week. She's a fairly small petite kitty.
