Works as it’s meant to, pictures are better quality once uploaded to computer. Looking at them on the camera screen, they don’t look all that great. Same with videos. The selfie stick with this kit broke the third time it was used, so some of the accessories are not so great quality, but overall it’s a good product. ... show more

Took the product on a 10 day vacation to Colorado, hiking and fishing- every one of those days trying to use this product was some fresh new hell, another opportunity for disappointment. Product doesn't come with a physical user's manual or troubleshooting guide- a stroke of genius, given no one in the history of outdoor activity has *ever* pursued their passion beyond the reach of a cell tower. Rest assured if the product goes down outside cell service (and in my experience, it absolutely will), there's nothing you can do about it. You have your own very expensive paper weight. The product randomly turns on. Sitting in the passenger seat, on the dash, in the console, in your backpack- it'll turn on, without a sound, and act like it's charging the battery. But since it isn't plugged in, it isn't charging anything- just draining the battery. Just ensuring by the time you get to your destination you won't be able to do a thing with the GoPro- again, a very expensive paperweight. And let's talk about that battery! It'll charge on a wall outlet, and it'll charge on a vehicle's USB. But it doesn't matter how full your portable power bank is, the thing won't charge. If you never plan on being out of eyeshot of your house or car, great- but if you plan on taking this thing hiking, biking, camping, or any of the other myriad activities it's explicitly advertised as being designed for- it will fail. Final nail in the product was one of those few rare, random times the product seemed to be working- turned on, the battery was fully charged- I went to press the record button annndddd...."SD ERROR." Only option given was to reformat the SD Card, and delete the small handful (we're talking <5 minutes of video) I'd managed to squeeze out of this thing in four days, during the off moments when it worked. I swapped the SD Card in the GoPro for the SD Card in my digital camera. The SD Card that had been working in the GoPro worked fine in the camera, the SD Card that worked in the Camera still caused an SD ERR message in the GoPro. Bought new SD Card, put it in the GoPro...SD ERROR. Re-formatted the new SD Card in the GoPro...SD ERR. Took the new SD Card out, put it in my digital camera, took pictures and recorded video...it worked fine. The saving grace of the whole experience was I had a decent backup digital camera. If I had relied exclusively on the GoPro Hero 8...I wouldn't have a single photo or video of my vacation. Given the lifestyle image GoPro has cultivated...I can't imagine a worse experience.
