Update after using the case for a couple months. I reduced the rating to 4 stars. All points I made in my original review are still valid. I do have one issue now that I have some experience using it. The cloth texture, that is added to the case, pics up a ton of dirt. The fibers in the cloth trap dirt and debris and are difficult to remove. I could probably find a nylon brush to scrub out the dirt from the cloth. Is it a deal breaker, no. I generally like to keep my phone clean, so the dirt all over my case is somewhat irritating. If you don't care about a dirty looking phone case, then I would recommend this case. ------------------------------------ Very nice case, fits well. I like the surface, its a cloth material very tightly bonded to the plastic case. Adds good texture for holding phone. Also, the texture does not interfere with putting it your pocket as a rough surface may. The power and volume controls are different on the case. The volume buttons are covered in cloth and the power button is not. This allows you to operate any of the buttons without looking. I've had this case for a few months now and am currently still using it (though not for long). It looked great when I got it, but it didn't take long for the fibers to get ratty and it picks up EVERY bit of dirt and grime. Even when I wipe it down, I feel like it's not doing a whole lot to clean it. It repels wetness only a little too. You can wipe liquid off, but there will be a wet spot for a while - I imagine my case is a huge germ hot spot. As for protection? It hasn't done a great job. Every time I've lightly dropped my phone since having this case, my screen has cracked. My previous Google phone didn't crack once in its old hard case. I had wondered when I bought it, but since it's the case Google kept advertising I had hoped it'd be more sturdy. The case itself is very aesthetically pleasing, but I wish I had just gone with another more reliable option. ... show more

It's more for aesthetics, but it definitely looks professional and clean which is what I wanted in a phone case. It's different though and can be slippery at first use. Will it protect my phone like some of the bulkier cases will? Probably not. But it's sufficient protection if you take care of your devices which I plan on doing. Dropped my Pixel the 1st day and it survived. I paired mine with a ESR glass protector to give you an idea of how I'm protecting my phone. Go for this case if you care about looks above everything else. If you want an OtterBox for protection, go for it. This suits me well as a business phone case. Never paid this much for a case, but it feels great in your hand. Cut outs are perfect. It gives good protection, nice raised edges above the screen. Just know that this is for the 3a XL, not the 3 XL! It still fits the 3 XL, but the hole for the fingerprint sensor doesn't line up quite right. Great case though. I do like the look of this OEM Google case. However despite the cloth-like texture, my biggest gripe/concern is it still seems a bit slippery in a standard typical grasp from the natural weight even for the lighter Pixel 3a XL.
