Pad heats very well with different temperatures settings. This pad will only stay ON for a maximum of 12 hours and then turns off. It is NOT a continuously ON heating pad. You must turn back on after the 12-hour limit.

This is a truly wonderful product! I bought the 34" for our whelping pen. The surface is soft. It was easy to wipe off with lysol wipes for cleaning. The pad is sturdy and thicker than an average heating pad. It can take some abuse before it is truly damaged. Our German Shepherd scratched it repeatedly as she dug through the blankets, and it barely showed signs of wear. The protective casing around the wire is a nice touch, although if a large dog wants to destroy it - they will, like with anything. You can set it by exact temperature, rather than just levels like Hi/Med/Lo. You can use the timer, or choose to have it on all the time, which was what we did. It is perfectly safe on the lowest temp for puppies to be directly on the heating mat without it being too hot. I checked it regularly, and it stayed accurate. I also put it in a box with a blanket to put the neonatal puppies in while I sanitzed their pen each day, and when we went to the vet. Even mom liked to lay on it some nights. I then bought the 16" round heating mat for our little kitty who's 5lb. She loves to hang out in the "sun porch" room, which is very cold in the winter. I put this under her little round bed that she sleeps in, and she loves it! The bed is in a basket, so it's basket-blanket-heating mat-cushioned bed. I have checked it daily, and it is not too hot for the bed/blanket, but gets hot enough to transfer heat through the bed's cushion. Our electric bill did not go up with the mats on all the time either. I'm considering getting another big one for the other kitties to lay on in winter. I'd use the one from the whelping pen, but cats will always be able to smell the dogs no matter how much I clean it :) They will probably avoid it, or pee on it ;P ... show more

Wow, this cat house is amazing! The design is great, and it was super easy to assemble — it took me and my friend about 14-16 minutes. A couple of tips: when you’re putting the poles in, make sure to undo the Velcro flap on one side. I didn’t notice it at first, and undoing it makes getting the poles in much easier. Also double-check that everything is tightened all the way. I originally had trouble getting the frame inside until I realized a few pieces weren’t fully secured and pushed in. The house itself is made very, very well. I haven’t been able to test how it holds up in the rain yet since we haven’t had any, but it definitely looks sturdy and well-built. I taped the exit flap open at first so my cat could get used to going in and out, and once he felt comfortable, I let it close normally. You can fit two cats inside, but it will be a little snug. Pros: -Heating pad warms up really nicely -Multiple heat settings with a timer -Easy to clean. Cons: -A little snug for two larger cats -Assembly can be confusing at first Overall, this is an awesome cat house, and I’m extremely happy with it. ... show more

Update. Ordered 2 in February 2026, as of June 2026 it stopped working. I am so disappointed. Delivered 3/22/25: Review is 3/24/25 Start off by saying, I love this mat, and it's been 2 days. I love that it's just a mat and there isn't a cover on it. It seems water resistant and easy to wash off if needed. The design is cute too. I purchased the paw print one. I keep my house frigid, like 63-degree F, because it is so hot at night, due to my apartment being old and run down...beside the point. I hate my fur-babies (2 cats, 2 dogs) are always shivering. A few years ago, I purchased a mat by a different provider and had it for three years. It was great and stayed ON 24/7 all year long. That one had a cover on it and wellllll, my German Shepard decided she didn't like it, so she destroyed it. The mat was exposed but worked. The fur babies would get on and off of it just to warm up, but it did get too hot without a cover. The thing finally was going out, so I began the research and found this one. I read the reviews, and several people said their dogs destroyed it instantly. I was thinking, not my girl, she wouldn't do that, she just didn't like the cover on the other one and left the actual pad alone. Well, dam I was wrong. She made it two days. 2!!!!! I am sitting at my computer, just tapping away and studying(ish) and I hear her chomping on something. I thought it was her bone I gave her 20 minutes ago to occupy her since she seemed board. I just happened to turn to check on everyone and I'LL BE DAMMED if she isn't chewing on the corner plastic piece, exposing the cords. It still works, for now, but this one will have to be replaced with a different one sooner than expected. 5 stars because the few days I did have it; my feet were nice and toasty while we cuddled on the couch to watch a movie. I also like that I can put it on the highest setting, and it stays on. With a blanket over it, it was perfect temp for the fur-babies. I bought one of these and my cats loved it so much and fought over it so I had to buy a second. Easy to use with a range of temperatures and the ability to auto turn off or stay on. Works great! However, it does get rather warm. I use this inside for my older girl on the lowest heat setting. Large enough though for my chunky boy to fit comfortably.

    • WONDERFUL! Solved problem my senior cat’s vet explained about regulating her body temperature.
This wonderful heating pad made my 16-year old cat’s last month of life much more comfortable because her blood circulation changed. Her vet said she was having trouble regulating her body temperature. Cat’s don’t like being cold so this was just what she needed. I highly recommend it for older cats. Note, however, start out using the heating pad at its LOWEST temperature setting, NOT its highest setting. I learned this lesson the hard way. When it was set too high, she avoided it for a day until I lowered the temperature. So I’d recommend starting out at 90 or 95. That sounded too low to me, but I failed to realize that it made her feel warmer than the temperature setting because she was curled up on it. When I get in my cold car, I set the heated seat on the High setting, and it feels great at first. But after 15-30 minutes, I’m sweating, and need to change the temperature setting to Low. Also, note that to keep it running continuously (past 24 hours), you have to click the button past 24 (keep trying to click the button past 24) for continuous to take effect. ... show more

I bought this to keep in a whelping box for my dogs puppies, the material is thick, and waterproof so easy clean up if anything spills on it! The cord closer to the pad itself is made of a thick black metal-ish material which I LOVE because it rules out any cord damage due to chewing from puppies. Only thing I wish was different is the time settings, you can’t leave this on continuously, there is a 12hr option and a 24hr option, both are nice but you have to remember to turn it back on everyday. I put a blanket on top of it so the puppies weren’t playing directly on the heat source and the heat transfers well through the blanket ... show more
