For me I had an old Ping driver shaft which I put on a new adapter. Since all I needed was this product and a new adapter, it made a lot more sense to get a swing training aid this way then spend a lot more on other products. Plus, I can just throw it in my bag to use for warmups. Have to say I have used it over the winter, indoors as part of my workout routine and at my age if I can maintain the distance I have or even gain a bit, it was well worth the purchase. ... show more

This product just makes economic sense, to use the shaft(s) you should already have with the grip that you normally use. What's also nice is if you have an extra shaft you can keep it on there, or you can use it with your current driver and it easily fits in the golf bag. With max weight, it definitely feels heavier than any driver I would swing so you use more muscle to swing it. The weight also helps with the timing and tempo. Best part is if you accidentally ground the tip, at worst the red rubber band comes flying off but you don't damage your driver. I probably use maximum weight the most, then lower the weight when I want to get a "feel" for swinging it faster. It helps me to practice a faster swing sequence with the lighter weight, while the heavier weight helps find the swing path and body tempo. ... show more

I didn't buy this specifically to track my swing speed necessarily. I got it to practice driver position, transition, shallowing, and speed (release) with driver shaft. If I get faster that's great. I've got buddies that use TheStack & Speed Sticks but I never liked the fact that the OEM shafts felt weird on the pre-packaged speed sticks. Kick point & flex profile was always off and cheap. I'd much rather be swing my driver shaft with the correct bend profile. The main section (blue) weights 5 grams less than my Sim Max driver head (after I added lead tape) which is very familiar weight. Adding all the weights gets me 10% over driver head weight which is prefect. When I get to the range I traditionally put the main blue section on my driver shaft and swing easy to get warmed up. I focus on tempo and setting the club at the top. After I work through my irons I go back to the weight system adding all the weight section which is 288 grams. I do10 swings progressively getting faster. After those full weight 10 swings I take off the red & green section which gets it down to a similar weight to my driver head and do 10 more full speed swing. ALWAYS making sure my tempo and positions are correct before releasing the heat. Last is put the driver head back on and hit bombs. ... show more
