    • Cheaper than Pergo Gold but not as easy to use
The good: lines make it easier to cut straight pieces. Cheaper than the Pergo Gold product sold in big box stores (you get about twice as much material for the price). The bad: this Floorlot underlayment is on a roll (whereas the Pergo Gold is a rigid product). The Floorlot is more awkward to maneuver, lay out and cut. The adhesive strip on the Floorlot was not consistently placed -- sometimes it was an inch from the edge, and at other times it was right on the edge. This made connecting two pieces more difficult than it needed to be. Verdict: seeing as how I can get 200 square feet of Floorlot Gold for about the same amount of money as 100 square feet of Pergo Gold, this is a good deal.     • Quiet and Warm
I was going to use a different product or just simple tar paper. But this was recommended by a friend who installs floors for a living and the price on Amazon was much better than anywhere else. I installed it foil side up but not sure that's correct. My friend said that it wouldn't matter. I taped the seams and installed 3/4" nail-down solid oak flooring on top. It is very quiet to walk on and feels solid. It also keeps the floor warm. We had removed engineered oak flooring that only had tar paper underneath. The floor was always cold in the winter. This product mostly eliminated that issue. I'm very happy with the purchase and will continue to buy as we install more flooring throughout the house. ... show more
