These are a good quality for a set of beginners' tools. So far, they get the job done just as well as a more expensive set, but I can see where they might need replacing with higher quality pieces after a little while. If you're looking for something to work with until you make sure your model hobby is going to last, though, this is ideal. ... show more

I'm a sucker for little toolkits and was excited to find this one that included a pair of files in addition to teh screwdrivers, tweezers, small flush cutter, magnetizer, and utility knife. This is the kind of thing that I like to have in a few different spots around the house for convenience. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and heft of this set - my expectations were modest as I will use this for small and simple tasks, but each item is solid and well made. The screwdrivers are completely tight with no play, the spring in the small cutter is strong, the blade in the utility knife is sharp and sturdy, etc. The only negative for me is one that bugs my OCD just a little, and that's the fact that the case is just a basic box, and the tools just ride loose. I'd love a slightly bigger case with foam cutouts for each tool or something, but I'd also love to find a million dollars under the bed. No real complaints, this set is a good and useful value. ... show more

    • Great starter toolkit for crafts, model building, & simple wiring repairs.
This little toolset works great for model building, crafts, and basic wiring. Pros: -Snippers - the edges line up and the grip stays in your hands, should hold up if you don't attempt to cut thick gage wires! -Tweezers - good for lightweight objects -Flathead & philips screwdrivers - should hold up well if not abused -Square & cylinder files - good for wood or plastic -Retractable blade with additional blades - not my preferred blade holder, but it works -Magnetizer - works to get the screw drivers to pick up small screws Note: -The description has a bad translation of "Light: Model tool, mini light. When you use them, you will feel more convenient.". The kit doesn't include a "light" but is lite, as in, doesn't weigh a lot and is easy to transport. Cons: -Case could be a bit better if it had proper hinges instead of folded plastic. -The retractable blade holder could have a removeable rubber grip.     • A good introductory model tool kit
After using this tool set for a few weeks, the included tools are comfortable to use and to handle. Specifically, I think you'll find these comfortable even if you've previously had issues with other tool sets geared more for those with smaller hands. The snippers are good and sharp, and cut cleanly through plastic. The knife is just as razor sharp as you would expect, and worked well to clean up some tinier models. The included files, tweezers, and screwdrivers work as you would expect as well. In terms of downsides, the snippers are a bit on the larger side and can be a little difficult to get into tight quarters, depending on the model or otherwise you are using them on.
