  • Good balance of size, power, and weight
Color: Orange
We have a large refrigerated cooler we take with use when traveling or doing multiple stop shopping away from town so we can store food items that are frozen or need to be refrigerated. When driving we plug it into the rear 12V plug but if parked I needed an external power source so it would drain the battery if away for a couple hours or more. This battery works perfectly. We have used when remote shopping a couple times and it has worked great and keeping the cooler running for up to 4 hours on its own without being drained using the 12v plug. I like the display on this unit and the details it provides on where the power is being used and amount left etc. We also have used on a trip and when in the hotel or rest stops we could use for powering the cooler, charging phones away from the car, and other items. It charges fairly quickly for its size which is convenient and is not extremely heavy. I friend of ours had a similar power station but it was larger and really heavy. We are extremely pleased with this power station and would highly recommend it. ... show more

  • I LOVE This Little Device - Great For Beginners
Color: Black
I have another LiFePo4 from about a year ago and was growing a bit anxious to update / upgrade it with another device that has a pure sine wave inverter so when I saw this with a coupon, I thought that might be perfect. I also saw a couple of my FB group mates say that they liked it. Man this device is certainly a keeper in terms of what you get. What I Like About It - The battery chemistry is Lifepo4 so it will maintain its full battery capacity for 2000 cycles. (if you follow the guidelines for charging and maintenance). The user manual says 1000 but the manufacturer and others have told me that it is indeed 2000 cycles until the battery reaches 80 capacity. - The display shows power coming in and how much time you have left. - Pure sine wave inverter so you can trust your devices being plugged into the AC port compared to modified which can cause your devices to not work well and possibly cause them to stop working sooner - It has pass through charging. I dont think I would buy a PPS that doesnt have this. - USB C PD Charging with a 60 watt port and a 30 watt port! And the 60 watt one is bi directional so you can charge it via that port with a usb c pd charger. - The capacity on the battery is 300 watt hours so its an upgrade from my previous one which only had 166. - The inverter is 300 watts and it has a decent surge on it for the size. I think it surges up to 500 watts - It includes all the cables you need. Some companies do not put the MC4 solar adapter in with the device. - It has a lamp instead of a flashlight which is more useful for power outages where you need to light up a room vs a specific area. - It has two outlets and they are sideways to accommodate large wall adapters. There are some things I don't like or I wish that it could have been different. - The included adapter charges at 45 watts instead of 60. My previous device had a 45 watt ac charger as well. I wonder if its something thats ideal for these smaller lifepo4 devices. - The top 3 usb ports (including the 30 watt PD port) dont provide power unless you plug your cable into your device first, then power the ports on and then plug the cable into the GoLabs. The manufacturer said that this is a protective measure. Not a fan but if they know something about their device and put a protection in, then I can appreciate that. **note** The USB C PD 60 Watt port works like "it should" or like you would expect a power port to work. - The 12v port (cigarette style found in cars) is shallow but they provide an adapter that gives you a second option. Some 12v devices plugs might fall out because of it. The main example I have heard is 12v fridges. - How the display shows power usage is a bit odd but Im still glad that it shows me any input as my previous one did not. - I have gotten an over voltage error from time to time because the voltage range is a bit wonky. Some panels come right up to the limit when in full sun. But I have found that the device still charges as it should. So overall, this is a very capable device with some drawbacks but nothing that should cause you to pause in picking one up especially if you are new to solar and want something to just get started and give you a little peace of mind when the power goes out or while on a short camping trip or outing with family. I originally wanted to give it four stars because of some of the drawbacks but when thinking about it, this device has no real competition in this price range for the features, so I think it deserves the 5 stars. I would absolutely recommend it. One cautionary tale, I have seen at least one video that mentioned an odd "burn in" on the screen but the manufacturer seems responsive and I'd think they would honor the warranty. ... show more

  • Got five days use out of it over two years.
Color: Orange
This is my sad saga that will prove a cautionary tale for those considering buying this SolGen. I purchased the Golabs R300 because it checked all the boxes for my use case, including pass-through charging (which I recently found out the manufacturer actually advises against using this key feature!) The unit arrived DOA, loose in a large box, with no accessories or paperwork. It would not power on, nor take a charge. it was in essence an oversized paperweight. Amazon arranged for a replacement which arrived two weeks later. All seemed good, I even got a coupon for a carrying case! My joy subsided a little when I found out that the USB would not stay on to power a simple USB light. That was not my primary use, so I accepted it and got on with my life. Fast forward two years, one year out of warranty. I have used it on two camping weekends totaling five days of use. On the first trip it was used to power and charge phones and a laptop, and it worked well for this. On the second trip, we used it to run a 12v refrigerator, and again, it worked fine. I would mention that on each trip it had to be recharged once, no big deal, I planned for that. At this point, I was basically satisfied. Maybe I should have let well enough alone, but part of the point of a SolGen is to charge from solar panels, I got greedy and tried to use the R300 as advertised. I connected two 12v 12w solar panels in series. Turned on the R300, the battery showed about half full. So far, so good. I plugged in the solar panels and the unit shut off! I have not been able to turn it back on since! I even tried charging it with the provided wall charger. No, it's still dead. I have written to Golabs, in hopes that there is some trick to wake it up. But I am not holding on to much hope. Since buying mine I have seen several reviews and complaints of dead units... and it is one year and two weeks out of warranty. Tip: they only offer a one-year warranty when other companies offer two to five-year warranties, I think I now know why. ... show more
