Sold by Goflame (Golflame), this bench is manufactured by COSTWAY, according to: USER'S MANUAL - Ordinary Piano Stool HW60296\HW60305\HW60306, a single sheet with little useful content. Nothing makes me believe that any other affordable bench would be any better. This "duet" size bench has plenty of storage under the seat, but the idea of sharing the bench with another adult is a joke - as I knew before buying. (A thin mom & child, OK.) Despite defects, I decided the product was good enough to keep. The following info relates to the photos. 1. SHIPING DAMAGE: The package arrived damaged via UPS. Amazon's Prime shipping is so good in every way that the other shippers appear to be providing super-cheap options to compete. I ordered on 10 Sep, and it arrived 22 Sep 2021. It appears to have sat on a truck for many days, perhaps waiting for more packages, with no tracking info available and plenty of time to be abused. (I have had a similar delay with USPS.) 2. PRODUCT DAMAGE: Whatever pierced the package dinged the edge of the underside of the bench. Ugh. It looks big in the photo, but I can only find it because I know it is there. 3. LEG BOLT PROTECTOR: I used a pair of pliers to remove the vinyl protector from each leg bolt. 4. UNDER-LID VELVET: Nice enough, but one of the staples did not sink. I can fix that either with another staple or a couple of tacks. 5. ASSEMBLY: The assembly is straightforward, but I didn't even try their wrench. Unfortunately, this leaves the issue of how much to tighten the nut. (Their wrench is self-limiting.) If the bench wobbles, tighten it more. Mine is sturdy enough for me, around 210#. The inch or so of padding is sufficient, and apparently more than on some. If you want more padding, check out X benches; you'll have to do without storage. Update, 4 Nov 2021: After almost two months, the legs seemed a little loose. I got out my 17mm wrench and tightened them up. Depending on your weight and wiggle, expect to do this. The little wrench that came with the bench is nearly useless for this tightening. ... show more

I actually really like this piano bench, especially for the price. Easy to assemble, and it doesn't show any wear after a couple of months using it for regular piano lessons. Matches my piano almost perfectly. Sturdy without being heavy. Top is comfier than a plain, bare top. And best of all, my cats don't scratch at the top of it like they did to the other one I had ;) ... show more

We were looking for a mudroom bench, a place to sit to tie/untie shoes and boots, and we liked the idea of a little shallow storage for gloves and scarves. Initially this turned out o be a little too tall to comfortably tie shoes, but I took 3" off each leg and now it's the perfect height. When the lid is open, the bright hardware that attaches the legs stands out as a little clunky-looking, but that's a consequence of designing it to be easy for non-handy type people to assemble and still have it be sturdy - I might make hardware covers to hide the plated metal bits from view. ... show more

I ordered this to use with my full sized electric piano. The little stool/bench I had was very uncomfortable and not sturdy. This bench supports my 200# frame very well. I am 5'6" tall and the bench allows me to sit properly to play the keys. It has an adequate space for storage as well.

I really like the leather-like seat and the ease of getting into the storage area. Granted you can't get in there when you're sitting on the bench, but once you stand up, it is really easy to get into the storage area. T here is also a locking mechanism inside the bench that holds it open while you look through your stored items and is very easy to unlock with one hand and close the lid. The color and finish of the bench also co-ordinate well with my Casio Privia digital piano. ... show more

Nice product though made in China. Pretty sturdy, I'm 240 and it doesn't creak or wobble. About 3" depth worth of storage in the bench. The paint is extremely glossy black and scratches pretty easily. If anything I would change that, if mfr would add a matte black finish it would be good. Probably made to go with highly lacquered black grand pianos or something like that. Seat is synthetic, you're not going to get leather or anything at this price. I would rather buy American for this but don't have $300 to spend on a piano bench. ... show more
