I have AD200 and AD300. I purchased these because I wanted the ability to compensate for direct sunlight when shooting outdoors as well as the ability to shoot at higher aperture settings indoors. So far, I am very happy with them. With AD400's, I can open my aperture all the way f22 and still have my images properly exposed. I also purchased the A/C adapters so that I can use these lights both indoors and out. Another feature that I was impressed with was the capability to do up to 13 continuous fires in a row. Neither of my other Godox lights can do that. Hopefully, I can relegate my AD300's to backup/emergency duty as I expect the AD400's to be my main lights going forward. ... show more

Love Godox, with this particular model the only issue is the battery. It dies, there us no fix to it

I just bought this to force myself to learn off camera for flash. I knew if I spent this much money I would figure it out! If you don't know anything about flash, you have to buy an additional piece of equipment to trigger this light. You can't do it from your camera.It took me one year to figure out how to use this well, but it is worth the trouble. You become a photographer at a higher level with better quality pictures. Now, when I say, “Baby, you got just what I need!” I’ve replaced my old JTL kit of 3-400’s moonlights, for 3-ad400pro God-ox’s(I just realized it’s name is Hebrew in origin- The Aleph is an Ox’s Head and the symbol of God- I digress).
