  • Amazing on location light for fighting against the sun.
Comes in a nifty bag and is bright enough to take on the sunsets I enjoy shooting with. I haven’t had much use yet but the last 3 weddings I’ve used it on it worked as it should and worked well. It’s small enough to bring along anywhere and with a decent light stand is very stable. I’m using a bigger 9’ stand so I can mount it on the godox bowens mount adapter. I use the mount so I can pair the flash with the 40” parabolic softbox. Recycle time is fast. Quality of light is great. Wireless capability is great with the Xt2 transmitter. High speed sync was flawless. Overall this is great flash for when you want to do a few creative shots keeping that sky exposed and the subject lit perfectly. ... show more

  • Great for Real Estate Photography
I have been using a Godox AD600, which I love, but it is quite heavy, along with 2 speedlights for Real Estate Photography. The speedlights, a Canon 580 EX ii, and a Godox TT600 worked great, but they sure knew how to eat batteries. I would typically get one house from each set of batteries on the speedlights. I shot for several hours with the AD200's and barely used any battery. I like the size, especially compared to the AD600. Don't get me wrong, the AD600 is fantastic when there are really high ceilings, or lots of dark woods, but a lot of the time it is overkill, and the AD200's work great in most homes. I shoot flambient in most of the homes I do, and the ETTL is great. I find in smaller rooms than a STU is very helpful, and the AD200's came with a tripod mount that also holds the STU's very well. The ease of use, with the Godox X1 trigger system is great. I will probably upgrade to the X2 this year to allow Bluetooth control, but in the 2 years I have been using the Godox systems I have been very happy with them. ... show more

  • Tiny, versatile, (reasonably) powerful
This has been a truly invaluable addition to my portable lighting setup. I can't really oversell this light; the fact that it provides ~500 full power shots per charge, has super fast recycle times, and provides the flexibility of both a bare bulb and high output flash head in one compact body is pretty spectacular. That it does all those things with an internal li-ion battery for $300 is nothing short of astounding. Likewise, its ability to provide high speed sync (HSS) has made it so easy to get good-looking wide open aperture shots with flash during full daylight. (It really is quite feature rich.) In any case, I've been very pleased using this light. My first outing with it was actually for a prom photo booth; I mixed this light with another lower-output flash for some easy dramatic lighting (30 inch beauty dish with shower cap diffuser) and it performed like a champ for well over 300 shots without the battery indicator even dipping. Granted, shots ranged from 1/16 to 1/4 power, but I've also used it for outdoor shooting at 1/1 and the battery life is still pretty robust; I haven't yet pushed it to 500 full power shots, but it doesn't sound at all far fetched given what I've experienced thus far. Additionally, the lack of battery cables and the more compact form factor (vs. something like the older Godox AD180/360) make this light a dream to set up. One small gripe I have (and it's very small) is that its thickness makes it a bit of a squeeze to get this light into a Bowens mount. That said, it does fit, just with a little more finessing than I'd like. Overall, there's not much to complain about. The overwhelmingly positive reviews on YouTube for this light totally make sense, and every location portrait photographer should be pleased with the capability and performance this flash offers. Now if Godox could just provide a flash trigger with HSS support that works for Fuji and Olympus so I could stop jerry-rigging trigger solutions I'd really be psyched! ... show more

  • My best purchase
I have used three of these units for five shoots now. The lighting they produce are of a very high quality. I have had no misfires so far using radio transmission. The portability is second to none. Usually I travel with my large moonlights and large 37”x 48” light modifiers. Now all my gear including modifiers and tripod fits into one carry bag. It has been a great purchase so far. The battery life is fantastic so far. My only problem was to get it to synchronize with the X2T trigger. I don’t think the manual is as explicit as I think it could be. I had to experiment a bit to get it to work. ... show more

  • Fantastic light, with one downfall.
First off, I love the portability and power in this thing. It's lightweight and easy to use. I added a handle and a small diffuser (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XD2P6MX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) which works great for real estate photography. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because of the display. It is difficult to see in outdoor situations doing portrait work. And, for my outdoor portrait work, I use a beauty dish with it and the light looks great, plus the strobe is TTL. SO nice to have shooting families outdoors. ... show more

  • Worth the money and love everything about it !
Insta @freddyrodrig Coming from a $75 basic flash this has been one of the best buys that I should have done sooner. you should also buy the bracket that fits this flash if you want more options for modifiers, if not the flash itself can still be screwed onto most standard tripods. Here are some things I love -rechargeable battery pack -can be screwed onto a tripod, horizontal or vertical -recycle time is great ! -not as noisy as my cheap flashes -came with a nice carrying case -ability to change out to a bulb -able to overpower the sun !! Finally I can’t recall the vendor , but my second unit arrrived DOA. Amazon quickly sent a replacement. New one worked perfectly. I don’t think it was the product though since the packaging looked kind of open, so I’m guessing it was a return makred as new. I also added some images to show how great the light looks. All of the pics used less than 1/4 power. There are also a few controller options you can buy that will work with this flash. ... show more
