It’s also the convenience of the solar power to charge up the unit if you actually don’t have access to DC power. Got a brand new unit that will not charge from solar in any capacity. After watching a bunch of youtube videos apparently this is a widespread problem and a quality control issue on goal zeros part. Without solar working this unit is useless for my setup. A huge disappointment at this price point.

The 60w charger that comes with the Yeti is prone to overheating, especially when charging after a high discharge of the Yeti (like following a camping trip). It takes hours to charge and the chargers get almost too hot to touch (this is in an air conditioned house). I have experienced three charger thermal failures in the 4 years Ive owned this Yeti. At $40/ea, it has become expensive to replace these chargers. Cant recommend on this basis, though I have found the Yeti useful. ... show more

Coming from South Florida we have had a gasoline generator for years. They work but are noisy and scrounging for gas after a bad storm is problematic.
